What Happened To Greenland’s Tipping Point?

By Paul Homewood

JUNE 22, 2020

Excerpt:

Ten years ago, the Guardian warned us that Greenland would have passed a tipping point by now, with the whole ice sheet due to disappear by the end of the century:

The entire ice mass of Greenland will disappear from the world map if temperatures rise by as little as 2C, with severe consequences for the rest of the world, a panel of scientists told Congress today.

Greenland shed its largest chunk of ice in nearly half a century last week, and faces an even grimmer future, according to Richard Alley, a geosciences professor at Pennsylvania State University

Yet science research shows that CO2 doesn't determine snow and ice cover of Greenland at all:

Greenland’s Kilometers-Thick Ice Sheet Routinely Disappears (‘Ice-Free’) When CO2 Levels Hover Below 280 ppm

By Kenneth Richard on 22. June 2020

Excerpt:

There is no apparent connection between Greenland’s ice melt and atmospheric CO2 concentrations.

The ice that blankets Greenland today stands over 3 kilometers high. This ice volume can almost completely vanish – with just a tiny ice cap in the eastern highlands remaining – when CO2 concentrations only reach pre-1750 levels, or 260 to 280 ppm.

For about 280,000 of the last 2.6 million years (encompassing the Pleistocene Ice Age), Greenland was ice-free (Schaefer et al., 2016).

" For the last few centuries, the volume of ice on the Greenland ice sheet has been much larger than it has been for all of the last 10,000 years (Mikkelson et al., 2018). "

If true, this is devastating to the increasing CO2 levels will melt down snow and glaciers argument.

Doesn't really matter. I have posted raw data from the ice core showing the temperature has been higher there before the industrial revolution and those ice core samples mean NOTHING!!!!!! to the same people who were a few days later back on the Greenland Ice Core sample PROVE!!!!!!!!! Global Warming.

It tipped. We all died.

And that destroys your "climate can have only one cause" fallacy. You seem to be the only person who says that only CO2 affects climate. You never see any climate scientists saying such a stupid thing.

What's more, your point backs up the Greenland predictions, by showing that the Greenland ice sheet is sensitive to small changes in temperature, no matter where they originate from.

Your theory seems to claim that CO2-induced warming is different from other warming, in that it somehow won't affect the ice sheet. Fascinating, how deniers seem to think that CO2 is a magic molecule.

The actual science -- which you'll never address -- predicts a loss of the ice sheet in 2000 years under the absolute worst-case warming scenario.

Your propaganda author could have looked the recent science. He didn't. He remained willfully ignorant, as do you.

What is Anthropogenic Global Warming (AGW) again?
