What era would you like to live in?

The 50s seemed nice, although I get the impression the best time to live will probably be in the far future, assuming the human race doesn't destroy itself.

When we get to the point where we're terraforming other planets, we'll have a lot more options for where and how to live.

Back in 50's...segregation and "redlining", racism was real. Now? Its a popular neurosis the media pulls out of their hat to push a popular political narrative. I love the 50's aesthetic. Gogi Grant:

The 40/50s had movies that movies like "Gentleman's Club" or "Bad day at black rock" or "Giant". I love the Donna reed show, too.

What ever era it would have to have air conditioning. I grew up when air conditioning was an option...My grandparents said it ruined you to have air conditioning, my Dad had slow blood pressure so if it was one hundred degrees it was just right, the army didn't have air conditioning and neither did my aunts and cousins....We had it at home.

I agree wholesomely with Toro on this one! Even though the technology has come a long way, I wouldn't trade it for anything. (Well, maybe for an Aston Martin Coup.)
To me, the internet has been my "entertainment center". Everything I watch and do is online now.

Movies like the "Bridges or Toko-ri", "Strategic air command" . The Thing", "Giant", "Cat on a hot tin roof"...
They all seem to have a severe lack of frontal nudity unlike the movies from the 1960's.
That's the best part. They didnt use gratuitous profanities and pornography as art either. They had a subtlety about their craft that is lost now, now it's shove it your face blatantly that sort of defies what ART IS.

I'd love to go back to America in the mid 50's. The music, the zeitgeist.

I'd love to go back to the 1090's, when Urban II proclaimed the 1st Crusade and manly men from all over Europe gathered to organize against Islamic Terrorism that was arising in the middle east. Must have been a tremendous time to live.
