What Do You Want From Your Government...?

Seriously. I would like to know what everyone thinks the government is supposed to do.

Here is my two cents:

1 Build & maintain public infrastructure. Invest in roads and bridges, also air & sea ports. This includes commercial transportation coordination across state lines - gotta keep America Moving!

2 Coordinate defense and response against disasters both natural and acts of war.

Obviously, there is more... but if I list them all, no one will respond

Can we try to stay on the positive here and, if necessary, start a new thread for what the government should not be involved in?

Just stick to the constitution...that's it... If we would have done that then there would be no housing crisis. Anything not covered in the constitution should be left up to the states.

Enforcement and creation of laws... National Defense... Equal treatment and upholding all aspects (positive and negative) that comes with equality... Follow the intent of the founding fathers in the constitution... eliminate waste and the use of government as a charity or wealth redistribution center....
