What constitutes a so-called "mandate" to a new administration?

A mandate is usually defined as actions to be taken, authorized by the people who will be impacted by those actions.....

Trump won the election based on electoral college votes....and that is law....But, given the authority voiced by the majority of the people, many of Clinton's policies should then be followed.

So, are Trump's administrative policies based on a "mandate"???

Clinton had no policies except to encourage hate, fear and divisiveness, so there never was an alternative to Trump's policies.

we winners won and you losers lost , that's the MANDATE Nat !!

Speaking of policies, has Trump revealed any of his policies yet?

Apparently not in simple enough language for you to understand.

Well, we are told by right wingers that whatever Trump posted on his website is just campaign rhetoric and not to be taken literally....sort of "buying a pig in a poke"....

Trump has a mandate and should not deal with Democrats at all. The GOP won the House, Senate, White House and now control most of the states. The Democraps know that...thats why they are crying and yelling. But Trump should drive that point home to them. Ignore them. This is our chance to undo the damage they have caused.

Dear nat4900 if representatives of all political parties band together and declare NO to anything unconstitutional Trump orders that doesn't represent ALL citizens,
then I would consider THAT a mandate of the people voting NO to whatever does not represent the public's best interests fully and equally.

And Yes I believe Trump will listen when people communicate consent or dissent in a unified voice across all parties.

Here.....to help those who never made it beyond junior high.....

A mandate reflects the will of the MAJORITY of the citizens....So, who won the majority of the votes???

"The media took Trump literally but not seriously. The people took Trump seriously but not literally." Im not sure who said that but it sums the situation up nicely.

Hopefully, you'll then soon be let out of that re-education camp where that mean Obama has placed you during his 2 terms.....LOL

Okay DOTR but also refuse their taxes if the represenation is not there.
Why not require Democrats to invest their taxes in correcting the problems caused by imposing social programs and mandates/regulations
through federal govt where they do not belong.

If the Democrats want to keep social programs, health care and education funded nationally,
form an agreement to pay taxes there and represent and manage all those resources and programs themselves, outside of federal govt.

Just like any school or nonprofit organization, they can apply for federal grants and funding,
but then manage these social services for their own members using their own representation and resource management.

True........people (like you)took his comment about grabbing pussies seriously that he probably meant little kittens, but not literally.......
