What a Trump win would mean to the Republican Party

I fond your video choice interesting. There are a ton of examples of Trump willingly violating and/or disregarding rights in general. Expanding libel laws is not one of them (though I strongly disagree with his statements but I do not do so as an issue of rights)

I've posted that same video over and over because it boggles my mind that it doesn't get the news window that far less implicative blatherations have. We make icons out of "the judge is Mexican" and contortions mocking a muscular condition and "blood coming out of here wherever" and "rapists" but this is much more the elephant in the room.

The "libel" angle in my read is insignificant. That's just Rump citing his favorite bully tactic -- the lawsuit. It's the end game that concerns me.

And it's actually not Donald Rump himself that concerns me, since he really can't effect such "opening up" anyway --- it's the fact that when he says that he gets approval from the sitting sycophants cheering against their own self-interest. I know it's Texas, but even so. :scared1:

That's the real danger -- the demonstration of what mob mentality can be so easily baited into without a second thought, even when it cuts their own collective throat. As in the case of rally violence --- Rump never personally took a swing at anyone, but his willing minions take the hint and do it on his behalf. THAT is the scary part --- the obliviousness to the fact that the man behind the curtain IS the man behind the curtain. And when we point out the puppet strings over their heads they just go "la la la" and drone on with the Mantra of the Day.

(Usually at this point, I notice they change the subject to "Obama"... "Hillary Clinton"... "Bill Clinton"... "Bill Cosby"... anything they can think of to get out of the Discomfort Zone so it doesn't have to be faced.)
What it shows me is that the general public at this point simply does not care to learn anything about politics at all. Most Trump supporters do not care what he stands for because they are supporting their 'team' or someone that they have labeled as 'their guy' without any serious thought on what the actual positions, policies or how they will govern. As you mentioned Obama - this has really been the case at least since Clinton. No one has cared what they do or what they stand for. We got lucky with Clinton, at least he could govern, but Bush and Obama have both been abysmal failures IMHO and those that support them continue to utterly ignore the failures and prop up the 'accomplishments' without a single original thought.

Trump is simply the culmination of an electorate that refuses to pay any attention to what it is doing. The worst part is that he is not the last. He will lose but we, as a whole, are learning nothing from him or his example. I guarantee that after this election when he loses that those supporting him will dig deeper into their trenches as they did with Romney, Hillary will continue the same shit policies that will be ignored by her supporters because they 'won' and in 4 years we will have a repeat of this bullshit. I have no idea what it is going to take to wake up the electorate but I do believe that the longer it takes the worse it is going to be.
------------------------------------------ MAYBE course if you are correct with your predictions then the electorate deserves what it gets Pogo and FAQ2. ------------ Go TRUMP !!
The electorate always gets what it deserves. The problem is going to be when they realize it is to late and they are going to have to pay a price in blood.

"--- and treasure", as the idiom goes.
--------------------- yeah Pogo , I'm thinking that the milenials , liberals and other Hilary supporters and their kids will hate what they get if they elect 'hilary' . Course , as I said , they will deserve her if they elect her Pogo !!

Don't let pogo confuse you with her obfuscation and misdirection. Cuba, Venezuela, China, Russia all not only deny human rights but kill people. She'll probably say they are mostly communist not socialist. But she is just deflecting as all the anti trumpets here do because they can not argue against the truth. We are supposed to fear trump and not democratic brown shirts and thugs who attack, beat up, attack women, burn the American flag, yell the most obscene epitaphs, have young children cursing and giving the finger. Trump supporters are peaceful, are the victims, but are the cause of the problems. Reality will overwhelm dilettantes like pogo and her Alinsky strategies will blow up in her face. She is really trying to convince herself.

"her"? "she"? "herself"?

Who the fuck are you even talking about? Are you drunk?

Kind of a pathetic tactic to try to change your adversary's gender, don't you think? What, is that supposed to be some kind of "insult"? You think that lowly of women, do you?

Well now, that was revealing, wasn't it.

Again you didn't address the question.

You do understand what "causal" means -- do you not?
I do know what it means, and did answer your question. You just apparently don't understand basic English.

NO, you went off on a tangent about business regulation. That's not a "civil right". You're trying to move the goalposts. So on the contrary I understand only too well.
Running your own business is part of freedom. No, you don't understand, you're completely lost.

Not as regards civil rights it ain't. Business needs regulation, else it becomes Corporatocracy. Businesses don't have civil rights -- Citizens do. There ain't nothing in the Bill of Rights declaring what right a corporation has. None.

This all started with Rump's threats against the First Amendment. That has nothing in the world to do with running a business.

I'm using it as an example of rights being lost, as an individual does have a right to run his own business. No, though, businesses don't need any regulation. So, on top of not understanding Socialism, you also don't understand the economy. Fabulous.

They certainly do. What are you --- an anarchist?

Hey, cancel the FAA and let planes just fly into each other. Cancel the FDA and let snake oil salesmen sell us literal snake oil. No food inspections. Let everybody have water like Flint. No drug inspections. Know why Thalidomide was never sold in the United States? It sure as HELL wasn't because a drug company stopped and thought, "yanno, maybe we shouldn't sell this stuff until we're sure of it".....

Businesses lose money and clients to their competition if they did any of that, because anything negative would cause people to seek out their competitors, for employment or for goods and services. So, on top of economics and socialism, you also don't know anything about business. You may actually be the most ignorant person I've encountered on this site. That's quite the accomplishment, considering your competition.

So you don't know.

It was never sold here (but sold in plenty of other countries around the world and caused thousands of birth defects and deaths) because Frances Kelsey with the FDA put up a stop sign and demanded more info. The drug manufacturer whined and whined, the eeebil gummint regulator stood her ground.

And she was proven right. Kelsey saved potentially thousands of lives-- maybe yours, maybe mine -- because she did her job regulating a company looking for profit. That company was forced to pull the drug and apologize after thousands of deaths and deformities. In countries where the eebil regulators DIDN'T do their job. But not here.

But we shouldn't have eebil gummint regulators. Poster please..

Again --- NONE of which has to do with Rump and his contempt for the First Amendment. Don't think I'm unaware of the attempt to shift the subject.

You are correct, we should not have government regulators. It severely weakens the economy, as we've seen repeatedly.

I was born in Germany, it didn't save my life.

I'm not "correct"; I'm being sarcastic. That was mocking your position.

To hell with the economy if a drug company (or whoever) is going to put the public at risk for its own gain. To hell with their self-serving profits. That's exactly why they need to be regulated.

There's no benefit there, they lose all of their clients and deal with the penalty, whatever the court rules.

If Trump won, the GOP would celebrate, for a few days. Then reality would set in. Trump will change the values that the GOP has stood for, for decade. The Repiblican Congress will block most of his insane ideas. So, short term, perhaps a political win,

Long term, the GOP will never be the same. He will trample on individual rights. It will takes many years to return many Democratic principles. The Repulican Party will be despised due due to his crazy years in office. The GOP will never be the same.
No facts. Just another crazy rant by a clown.

Tell me please....What EXACTLY has the GOP stood for? Because frankly, for the last 10 years they have acted like nothing other than closet democrats. The people of the GOP have NOT changed - the GOP leadership and politicians HAVE.
