"Insanity is doing the same thing over and over again and expecting different results."

1. Yet that is the approach that Democrats/Liberals apply for guns. The unspoked promise is that their gun laws, gun regulations, gun statues, will stop the assassinations of innocent citizens.

More to the point, 'when seconds count, police are just minutes away.'

2. Here’s just a partial list of other attackers who obtained their firearms by complying with gun control laws, as compiled by Breitbart:
  • Parkland high school attacker (February 14, 2018)
  • Texas church attacker (November 5, 2017)
  • Las Vegas attacker (October 1, 2017)
  • Alexandria attacker (June 14, 2017))
  • Orlando attacker (June 12, 2016)
  • UCLA gunman (June 1, 2016))
  • San Bernardino attackers (December 2, 2015)
  • Colorado Springs attacker (October 31, 2015)
  • Umpqua Community College attacker (October 1, 2015)
  • Alison Parker’s attacker (August 26, 2015)
  • Lafayette movie theater attacker (July 23, 2015)
  • Chattanooga attacker (July 16, 2015)
  • Alleged Emanuel African Methodist Episcopal attacker (Jun 17, 2015)
  • Muhammad Carton Contest attackers (May 3, 2014)
  • Las Vegas cop killers (June 9, 2015)
  • Santa Barbara attacker (May 23, 2014)
  • Fort Hood attacker (April 2, 2014)
  • Arapahoe High School attacker (December 13, 2013)
  • D.C. Navy Yard attacker (September 16, 2013)
  • Aurora movie theater attacker (July 20, 2012)
  • Gabby Giffords’ attacker (January 8, 2011)
  • Fort Hood attacker (November 5, 2009)
  • Northern Illinois University attacker (February 14, 2008)
  • Virginia Tech attacker (April 16, 2007).
In fact, noted Breitbart, the overwhelming majority of high-profile attackers acquire their guns by complying with background checks, rather than circumventing them, which makes a critical point. People with bad intentions, particularly when desperate, do bad things; regardless of which hoops they must jump through to be in a position to do them. USA Today: Rifles Used in FedEx Shooting Purchased 'Legally', Which Makes a Gun Rights Point

Clearly the usual steps don't work.

3. Time to try something new, an approach that treats citizens like responsible adults, not like Democrats.....er, infants.

Iowa Governor Signs Bill Into Law Letting Residents Buy, Carry Guns Without Permits
Iowa Gov. Kim Reynolds signed legislation into law on Friday lifting some restrictions to buy or carry a handgun in the state for law-abiding citizens.

"Iowans would no longer need a permit to carry or buy guns under a GOP bill in the Legislature

it would remove the need for Iowans to get "a permission slip" to exercise their right to keep and bear arms, while opponents say it would threaten public safety and roll back some of Iowa's background check requirements."

Iowans would no longer need a permit to carry or buy guns under a GOP bill in the Legislature
Iowans buying guns from federally licensed dealers would still have to pass a background check or present a permit to carry. Not so for private sales.

4. Every citizen who passes a background check, takes a safety course, has liability insurance.....and wishes to own and/or carry a gun should be issued a CCW permit forthwith.
They can protect themselves and others.

End the stupidest of all projects, Gun Free Zones....also known as 'killing fields.'

Anti gun ignoramus: " while opponents say it would threaten public safety and roll back some of Iowa's background check requirements."

Then why it didn't happen in Maine since it was passed in 2015?

Maine, the lowest crime state in America

Maine Passes “Constitutional Carry,” Now it’s the Safest State in the U.S. From the Threat of Crime…

Excerpt:

Since 2015, residents of the state of Maine have been allowed to carry a concealed firearm without any special permit, and now the results are in: crime has fallen to the point where the state is now rated the safest in the nation from the threat of crime.

Every time there is a mass shooting, some legislator says, "I've had ENOUGH," and proposes some new law that wouldn't have made any difference or prevented the mass shooting that prompted the legislator's outburst.

It seems to me that aspects of our culture are fucked up in a way that plants the seed in the heads of people who are not entirely rational. They crave attention. They have petty gripes that become intolerable over time. They irrationally hate certain people or groups of people.

They lack the maturity and the knowledge to resolve conflicts peacefully, or to avoid the people and circumstances that "drive them crazy." They don't have a supportive social network - usually a family - to smooth out the rough edges of their lives.

Various forms of entertainment normalize violence in their perceptions, and dehumanize "others."

No new gun law can address these endemic social and individual problems.

To use a horribly inappropriate metaphor, there is no "magic bullet" that will solve this spate of mass shootings. All "we" can do is be prepared and cut the bastard down as quickly as possible when it happens. In a country of 340 million souls, we will always have crazy bastards in our midst. Combine that with hundreds of millions of "legal" firearms and problems will ensue.

A far more succinct version of the OP.

" In a country of 340 million souls, we will always have crazy bastards in our midst."
And, unfortunately, many of them vote Democrat, the party of lies, lynchings, and lawlessness.
