The thing you must understand if you join this movement is that you have to be very, very, very careful with the words you use, because negative words leads to negative ideas which leads to oppression of those who don't have "privilege" based on gender-identity, race, culture, gender, and body type.
Basically, if you're a white male straight person who isn't fat, you have the maximum amount of "privilege" and therefore, the most to apologize for. But guess, what? You can still be an "ally" so long as you realize that everyone else in the movement is allowed to dump shame on your head, and you are required to take it like a cis-man.
If I am ever again in a position to hire people, I will carefully review their resume and college transcripts to determine if that potential employee was part of this madness and if so -- I will put their resume in a locked drawer and feed the key to a codfish.
I urge all of you who run businesses and H.R. departments to do the same.
