'We feel incredibly betrayed': Thousands of Guardsmen forced to vacate Capitol

They get a paycheck and benefits.

The sense of entitlement in the armed services over the last twenty years has been getting just as bad as the sense of entitlement in society.

There is virtually no benefits being in the NG. All benefits are reserved for active duty. They didn't get deployed to guard a parking garage. They have real jobs that they leave to be in DC.

Who is the C-in-C? Oh, Sleepy Joe. Impeach him now.

Imagine the field day the corrupt MSM would be having if the C-in-C were Republican.

Jake Tapper tweeted something asking who is responsible, he got torched.

They are NG, away from home and their jobs (if their jobs weren't destroyed by Blue State Governors with stupid lockdowns).

They get a paycheck and benefits.

Thousands of National Guardsmen were forced to vacate congressional grounds on Thursday and are now taking their rest breaks outside and in nearby parking garages, after two weeks of sleepless nights protecting the nation’s capital in the wake of the violent assault on Jan. 6.

One unit, which had been resting in the Dirksen Senate Office building, was abruptly told to vacate the facility on Thursday, according to one Guardsman. The group was forced to rest in a nearby parking garage without internet reception, with just one electrical outlet, and one bathroom with two stalls for 5,000 troops, the person said.

“Yesterday dozens of senators and congressmen walked down our lines taking photos, shaking our hands and thanking us for our service. Within 24 hours, they had no further use for us and banished us to the corner of a parking garage. We feel incredibly betrayed,” the Guardsman said.

Why didn't they go home?

The Democrats are still scared.

Deserves them right for thinking the politicians were human beings and not arresting the treasonous politicians (who abused their powers the last 4 years) when they had the chance.
In other words instead of protecting those within the bldgs from those outside, they should have used those fortified baracades to imprison those inside to protect us citizens outside. It's all how you view lawfulness and comprehend the unlawful behavior by the politicians that by their own words are "not above the law".

Wow really?

Biden runs the Senate....who knew?
Joe Biden's America now. That is how it works.
Whaaaaa. Soldiers can deal they have had it a lot worse than having no internet.

Internet communications is an integral part of the Military now. They rely on the Internet for training, planning, and intel. They aren’t using the Internet to surf porn like those in the civilian world.

There is your Democratic leadership, completely screwing up security at the Capitol and then treating our National Guardsman like trash. Way to go, China Joe!
Dear God, please bless our dear troops. May good come of the hardships they have been put through while Congress sleeps on luxury mattresses, the dogs in their homes have better beds than they give those who serve America best. We are so embarrassed for our National Guardians. Please come to their aid. Amen.

Are you insane?

Do you have any idea why and how we have the Internet today?? Do you have any clue the role that wireless and IP communications and the internet plays in today’s theatre and combat missions? Ever hear of the Signal Corps?

You clearly have no clue the role and significance Internet communications plays in our Armed Forces and you have the audacity to question my sanity??

Sure I do.
That you think they rely on wifi is, well, stupid. They have capabilities to access those communications in the case of, you know, they're fighting in the middle of a desert.

Oh. Funny how some people can put the subject at hand aside to deliver a late blow with irrelevant trolling. Please stop the foot shoot and your limp might go away.

Yes WiFI is a significant mode of Military Communications. The economics and ubiquity takes stress off other military communications infrastructures. I work in this industry.

Always nice to be reminded how the autocrats truly feel about the military even when ordered to the Capitol. Instead of providing nice accommodations for the troops ordered to the nations Capitol to stand guard duty the troops are treated like homeless beggars by the autocrats. I guess spending ten million dollars for gender studies in Pakistan was more important.

When ever we went on duty in the states, we were provided excellent room and board, and ate at the best resteraunts.... And what wasn't provided us, the citizen's kicked in while we were out in the field voluntarily.

Always a great experience here in the states.

Don't ask. :)
