Yes WiFI is a significant mode of Military Communications. The economics and ubiquity takes stress off other military communications infrastructures. I work in this industry.

Instead of providing nice accommodations for the troops ordered to the nations Capitol to stand guard duty the troops are treated like homeless beggars by the autocrats.
