When not banning Dr. Seuss books is some kind of brave act of radical independence, the society is ill.

What the left completely misses here, is it doesn't matter whether they voluntarily ceased the publication of certain books, or whether there was a ban.

Let me give you an analogy.

An employer is unhappy with an employees performance, but they really don't want to come down on them with a big hammer.
They give the employee the opportunity to resign, which the employee agrees to.

On paper, it looks like the employee simply left the company on their own, but to people who know better, the employee was indeed fired.

Now back to the topic, the people who produce these books realize now that if they don't get ahead of a situation like this, they know the woke mob will come for them. For this reason they announce that the books no longer fit into the American mainstream, and they need to go. They now look "woke" and they have averted the pitch forks and cans of gas that the woke mob would soon be unleashing on them if they failed to act.

So to you dumbass liberals on this board, you can try and spin this all you like but this is in fact "banning" books. It's just not conducted blatantly in front of everyone's eyes.

Seems to me Mark Twain thanked the New York Public Library for banning Huck Finn as it generated a lot more sales for him.

I have never understood bannings of "Huckleberry Finn". The people who do it must either have not read it, or not been literate enough to understand it.
