Just finished watching this and thought it was good. Like most serious it slow in the beginning but gets better.

Writing is tight. Cast is excellent. And it is simply a great horror show.

The wife and I watched it through. Starts out a bit slow and then hits several home runs as it contrasts the horror of blind devotion to organized religion against the mythological terror of something else. My only real negative critique of the series overall has to do with the weak, even neutered male main character whose coming home story is swallowed up by the broader narrative. We never get to see much if any character growth out of the protagonist, while the bad guy's performance and character growth are quite excellent. The bad guy comes full circle at the last minute, while the good guy isn't even around anymore by that point to see or react to it.

I watched it and enjoyed it. Nice that it actually comes to a conclusion. Nice that it doesn't have a sex component, even if it could have.

Worth the hours spent watching it.
