As for the OP........actually it shouldn't be much of a change or anything, cause they won't be arrested, jailed & prosecuted anyway. New policing laws and not enough police to go around, they don't bother going after the criminals......unless of course they stopped and still at the scene by the time the cops MIGHT show up. Tarra Simmons and her co-sponsor David Hackney, the reduction in penalties is a move toward “racial equity.” That’s right, drive-by shooting prosecutorial outcomes are racist. Never mind all the black and brown people who are the disproportionate victims of drive-by shootings.

KIRO-TV News reported last July that “80% of shooting victims in King County are people of color,” but the city put its “defund the police” dollars behind an effort to hire social workers as part of a “regional peacekeepers collective.” An additional $140 million was earmarked for “groups that work on BIPOC safety.”

I guess these people don't want black people disproportionately incarcerated. It's not equitable if there are more black people in prison than whites, but the problem they have is that gang members are not stupid. If they know the penalties are less and if they are released earlier... they will resume gang activities and things like gang reprisals will continue at even a higher rate.
Liberals have done a bang up job with shoplifters and have created a crisis there... maybe they just want to lend their "expertise" to other areas of society I suppose and fuck that up as well because they care so much. These laws will only insure more black people get put under ground and the life snuffed out of them.. and it will still look good to them because they have some legislation they can point to.

If the shooter is black they do.

That's why this is a blanket statement for drive bys, because they almost all entirely done by blacks.

Sure we occasionally have a white guy that shoots up people, but the reality is blacks do most of the shootings in America and responsible for most of the street level crime in America.

But the media always hides that fact. That's why if you ever read a headline of a crime the only time skin color is ever mentioned is when it's a white person doing something bad to a black person. Then you'll see the headline mention skin color. But if the criminal is a black person the headline never says they are black.
