A bio war attack on the world with the richest nation weakened and if it does not get things under control, may lash out as a response. China may be betting that we do not. COVID-19 is a pretty weak bio-weapon. It only kills the old and people with previous medical conditions.

If China wanted to prove that the capitalist system can't adapt to a major crisis, then yes it's effective, but the U.S. can quickly switch to semi-socialist policies temporarily if needed.

Not many. People aren't buying silver tea sets anymore and the largest demand for silver by far was for photographic film and paper for many many years. Even it's largest global buyer Kodak is dead and gone now.

But what is happening: China's going back to work, they are ramping up their manufacturing and factories again.
Problem is, the other countries affected are shutdown/stay-at-home, can't work, losing their jobs.
Businesses are closing.
So there's nobody for the Chinese to sell to, unless it's President Cuomo buying masks and PPE.
