Pennsylvania Voter Smashes Touch-Screen Machine
2:45 PM ET, from the Morning Call of Allentown, Pa.:

"A man entered an Allentown polling site, signed in and proceeded to smash one of the electronic voting machines with a metal cat paperweight, poll volunteers said.

"Michael Young, 43, will be charged with felony criminal mischief and tampering with voting machines, according to Ronald Manescu, chief of investigations for Allentown police. Police gave no motive, but a source said Young, a registered Independent, believed Republicans had conspired to win the election by using electronic ballots."

All Voting Problems Linked to GOP, Liberals Charge
By Nathan Burchfiel

(CNSNews.com) - A liberal group monitoring the midterm elections said Tuesday it had received numerous tips on "dirty tricks" being played at polling places and accused the Republicans of being behind all of them.

"The most widespread problem seems to be voter intimidation through the use of robo-calls and threats to arrest people for voting," the group going by the name of Velvet Revolution said in a release. "All of these have been linked to the GOP so far."

Robo-calls are automated phone calls often featuring high-profile celebrities urging voters to cast their ballot in favor of - or in opposition to - a specific candidate or cause.

Democrats have accused Republicans of tricking voters into thinking the calls are from Democrats in the hopes that voters will be angered by the intrusion, and react by voting against the party they associate with the phone call.

Velvet Revolution said it was offering $500,000 to tipsters whose information leads to the conviction of election defrauders and to the overturning of an election. The offer has doubled since first reported by Cybercast News Service last month.

Velvet Revolution co-founder Brad Friedman wrote on his blog that one telephone hotline set up to process claims of election fraud had received nearly 3,000 complaints - mostly from Pennsylvania, New York and Missouri - before noon Tuesday.

The group, which describes itself as a coalition of "progressive organizations," warned that there was a "probability for outright vote manipulation in Tennessee, Ohio, Pennsylvania, Virginia, Florida and elsewhere."
