You need to do an online search for medical insurance in your state. It varies, and they are very hush-hush about the standards.

I can tell you this..in Oregon covered people (and their children) are being dropped like pancakes. The rationing has begun. All the people who applied who weren't moved to the front of the line in the last couple of years are being allowed to just slide off the radar..they won't be processing them.

And people who had coverage before and had earnings, and had their cert periods extended to allow the processors the time they needed to process..those people are losing their coverage, and they can't afford the premiums to maintain coverage.

This means kids will start suffering pronto. Their parents can't afford $600 a month to purchase health insurance. They will either quit working, or they will lose all their tax returns every year and eventually their assets will be seized to pay those premiums they can't pay, for medical insurance they don't have.

And what will happen will be that they just quit working. If they quit working, their kids will have insurance, and their taxes won't be tapped (in the case of two parent households where one can still afford to work). In single parent households, it means there will be a huge wave of tanf and foodstamp applicants. As that happens, there will be less and less to go around, and the kids will start slimming down.

And dying.
