On December 6, parliamentary elections will be held in Venezuela. What is at stake for President Maduro and eternal interim president Guaido?

At first, the election will be held on a democratic level that "Westeners" (why isn´t Venezuela part of us) cannot imagine. Over 100 parties, over 14000 candidates run. Guaido is also under pressure to take part after the Church called on the people to vote, as he is a self-declared ally of the Church.

It is to be expected that Maduro´s PSUV will have a victory over the right wing nuts that have wasted their time in majority to damage the country and undermine its sovereignty. That is a big problem for Guaido, as he was appointed interim president by that same parliament. Should their majority fall apart, his pseudo presidency ends.

The election is over and the PSUV won as expected. There was a very low turnout, though.
Guaido´s and the others´ turns end on January 5th.
