Wall Street Journal says aging A-10 Warthogs upgraded to be equipped with 113-kilogram precision-guided GBU-39/B munitions, following recent attacks on US forces in Syria, Iraq

Now, I would have assumed we had these over there already. Why just now? Yes, I know it's three weeks old, but nobody reported it here and I just read about it.

No, those all came home after our involvement in Iraq and Afghanistan ended. Why would we have kept them there after that?

They are primarily an CAS aircraft. And with no more "boots on the ground", there was no more need for CAS aircraft.

They could have stashed them in Israel. We stash a lot of stuff there.

We've had agreements with them since 1973 on stockpiles and supply.

That is not equipment, that is munitions. And notice, it specifically says that is an ammunition reserve. Not an equipment reserve. Our equipment reserves are in Kuwait and Qatar.

Hard-pressed to keep up a steady supply of artillery shells for the beleaguered Eastern European nation, the United States turned to Jerusalem last year to request that Israel allow the Pentagon to begin shipping ammunition from its local strategic reserves, The New York Times said.

The reserves, established after the 1973 Yom Kippur War, are meant to supply U.S. forces in the Middle East as well as to provide emergency military resupply to Israel in times of conflict.

Per your own reference.

You know, our military has many types of reserve depots. Some are ground equipment like tanks, others are munitions. Still others are aircraft. They are almost never in the same place, and kept separate for multiple reasons. Just because Israel has munition reserves, that in no way implies they have aircraft reserves.

And we in general do not keep aircraft in such a state. Primarily because of the fact they are aircraft and can be flown almost anywhere in the world without issue. And if need be we can always just slap them onto a carrier and ferry them over if needed. It is not like they have to be loaded into special ships and then taken over that way and be unloaded at a docking facility.

Spin any way you want. Bunker buster bombs aren't munitions, in whose military?

*facepalm*

A-10s are not "munitions", and we have not been keeping them in that area of the world in years. Are you so intent on arguing nonsense that you forgot what they very article was about? Not the munitions, the aircraft. You seem amazed that we are not keeping ground attack fighters in an area where we are not really involved in ground combat operations.

Then you talk about an article that brings up munitions, and your entire point apparently then goes off of that. They might very well have that munition in those bunkers, but they do not have A-10 Warthogs in those bunkers.

Holy hell, at least try to keep track of your own claims.

Try to post before you kill off your breakfast beers. No wonder they let you go from two different services. lol

About as expected. You can't explain how or why you changed the angle of your posts, so just toss around retarded insults.

And it is not called "being let go", it's called retiring. That is what happens when you are close to 60.

As expected, your trolling is just silly. You didn't 'retire'; you didn't serve 20 or 28 in either service. You got discharged, apparently for psych reasons.

Right. Have a good day.

Maybe next time you can address the fact that

1. They're sending them to Israel, and for a reason, and not Qatar or Kuwait, and

2. Obviously they didn't have them in Qatar or Kuwait either, and

3. Admit you had squat and failed at your stupid attempt at playing 'Gotcha'.

I always have a good day. Too bad you never seem to.
