An American millionaire from a prominent New York family has been arrested on suspicion of murder after appearing to admit to several killings.

Robert Durst was recorded saying in private that he had "killed them all", soon after being asked in an interview about the death of a friend in 2000.

The 71-year-old has always maintained his innocence in Susan Berman's murder.

Mr Durst agreed to be transferred from New Orleans to Los Angeles, where he will face a first-degree murder charge.

Prosecutors are also reportedly tying the case to the unsolved disappearance of his first wife, Kathleen, in 1982.

She went missing after spending the weekend at their country home in New York State and was eventually pronounced legally dead.

In 2001, Mr Durst was acquitted of murder. He convinced a Texas jury that he had shot and killed elderly neighbour Morris Black in an act of self-defence.

Mr Durst admitted to dismembering his body and dumping it in Galveston Bay.

Having heard the audio several times now, my impression of it was he was speaking as the interviewer and rehersing his answer. He was being interviewed afterall, and the question was either about to come up or already had so he's rehersing his answer out loud, "Did you kill those people?" - "Killed them all - of course." Mockingly. Didn't sound to me like he was confessing to anything so much as rehersing an answer mockingly.

Here's the thing

It seems that the cops were working with the film crew and feeding them questions to ask. That makes the interviewer an agent of the police. If Durst was not mirandized or given notice of this then anything he said will most likely be inadmissible as evidence

Besides it's too easy to claim that he was merely sarcastically talking to himself.

I don't think this "confession" will hold up

Except he wasn't being questioned. He was alone.

The jewish guy whose jewish family bought Manhattan buildings because of jewish intererst free loans from a jewish organized crime conglomerate that still runs the
US government to this day is obviously guilty of serial murders.

As soon as the cops see that he is a rich white guy, they'll let him go and tell him to go home and sleep it off

It doesn't matter.

They asked him the question previously and since he was not informed that the film crew was working as agents of the police he had a legitimate expectation of privacy

He was wearing a microphone that he agreed to wear. No expectation of privacy speaking into a microphone. There wasn't any film crew with him. He was talking out loud to himself into a microphone that he was previously warned was on.

The people who put the mic on him were working as agents of the police.

And as I said before it's too easy to claim he was just sarcastically talking to himself like most of us have done after being asked stupid questions
