If I were young enough to join, I wouldn't join today's military either. They used to make men and women out of people, today they just turn them gay.

Patriotism and the meritocracy are lost. There will be consequences for this when that day comes when the U.S military is needed for the defense of your homeland or a critical ally.

I warned Canada about our ills (our Police Apparatus), I warned Americans about "not becoming more like Canada and our self serving elitist system".

It's not too late, but it's never ideal to play catch up.

This I believe is the biggest issue, but not due to immigration. Just due to population growth in general.

Since its peak in 1989 the US military has shrunk by about 38% while the US population has grown by 35%.

With each passing generation fewer parents have served. it is not longer seen as a family tradition.
