Let me guess, you're one of those stupid people.
Not stupid enough to vote for this loser

You?

Universal Income is Satanic and from The UN. Do not fall in to this baited trap which will lead to the oppression of many.
That's right. The power to issue the universal income to some is the power to deny it to others. One for all and all for one? No. Not when the few have so much power to make decisions for the many.

The issuance of a universal income is the denial of income by free trade on a basis of human compassion rather than force or compulsion.

So if the profits from the oil in Alaska only has the ability to provide $1,000 per resident, when Alaska only has 700,000.... why would you conclude that you can provide $1,000 per month, to 330 Million people?
Because a national UBI wouldn't be paid for with Alaskan oil.

How much more does a star pitcher in MLB make than the hotdog vendor in the stands? How about the parking lot attendant?

How much does an actor make in a popular sitcom compared to the stage hands, the makeup people, the lighting crew or camera person?
How does the political influence of the actor and singer compare to the CEO?

Corporations run this country in case you haven't noticed.

Considering their taxes, heavily regulations, unions in the past, if they are running this country, they are doing a terrible job.

This thread belongs in fantasy land.

1.) Massive Fraud is being uncovered with The Biden Campaign,Democrat Party and Dominion-Smartmatic. He will never be president unless he is president over ‘Xi’s butt plug collection or his son’s crack pipe gallery.

2.) Even if Senile Pedophile steals the election he won’t be able to deliver on a single promise. He has the slimmest of margins in the house and has no control of The Senate.

All you ugly pole smoking transgender aholes aren’t getting your college tuition paid for.

Your asses are going to get drafted to go die in Biden’s WWIII, and then go straight to Hell after your body is torn to bits on the battlefield. No Universal Income for you either.

Haven’t you figured out that Biden only cares about Biden and has lied to everyone he knows for 47 years?

Dumb Ass Hairy Man Butt Lovers.

You got conned twinkle toes.

That makes as much sense to me as saying "if you object to the wealth a drug dealer makes, become one yourself." Both the dealer and the parasite earn their wealth through exploitation, so, if it's all the same to you, I'll stick with my SSA and SSI.

As far as entertainment's concerned, professional athletes compete on level, heavily regulated playing fields which is about as far from monopoly capitalism as possible.

My comment was merely the point that star players are hundreds of times more compensated than those who perform the menial labor below them. Companies are no different. The CEO is the star player, and I never hear any criticism from the left about entertainers being compensated the same way.

how much of that over the last decade or so or more is real inflation added to it.

That's bullshit. I know *I* don't pay that much money to see professional sports stars in action. A company? That's different. A lot different. People have to go to work and produce. The wheeling and dealing of empire-building CEOs doesn't add a whole lot of value to some of those companies for the salaries they're paid.

Companies not to invest in. High executive turnover, golden parachutes, poison pills, etc., etc.

Why do you post irrelevant crap in nearly every single post you make?

I've never understood this about you. You'll say something like this post....

"Because a national UBI wouldn't be paid for with Alaskan oil."

And then follow that with something completely irrelevant to the entire conversation like

"1. United States
U.S. Nominal GDP: $21.44 trillion - U.S. GDP (PPP): $21.44 trillion
The U.S. has retained its position of being the world's largest economy since 1871. The size of the U.S. economy was at $20.58 trillion in 2018 in nominal terms and is expected to reach $22.32 trillion in 2020."

Wow.... you can copy and paste something, that has nothing to do with the conversation. Good job.

Saying wealth exists, does not mean you can collect it in taxes. How do you plan to get the money to pay for UBI?

Especially since you haven't been able to even pay for the entitlements you already have. You understand that, right? You can't pay for the programs you already have, and now you want to pay for UBI?

And as I said, none of your proposals will work. Wealth taxes do not work. Financial Transaction taxes will not work. Tax on intellectual property will not work, and I explain how they have been tried, and why they will not work.

So if you can't pay the programs you already have... how do you plan to pay for UBI? Telling me the GDP of the country, is not an answer.

Because a national UBI wouldn't be paid for with Alaskan oil.
Crooked cops and disreputable tow companies have been stealing from me over and over again in Alaska. They are too aggressive, and they have shot at me, and attempted to murder me as well.

Huh? They have shot at you? What were you doing at the time, that caused them to shoot at you?

Yeah, and you are not directly paying a CEO either. You are not paying the CEO of Walmart $20 Million... just like you are not paying Will Smith, $45 Million.

Will Smith, makes nearly double how much money the CEO of Walmart does.

And here's the kicker.... Will Smith's $45 Million is cash. The CEO of Walmart only gets $4.7 Million in cash. The rest is in stock in the company, which if the company does badly before he is legally able to sell the stock, he loses money.

People have to go to work and produce. The wheeling and dealing of empire-building CEOs doesn't add a whole lot of value to some of those companies for the salaries they're paid.

First off... unless you are a shareholder in the company, it's not your money. It's THEIR money. They earned it. It's their money to do with as they please.

I wager if I knew your personal finances, I would find many things that I think are a waste of money in your budget.

But it's none of my business, is it? Right. And what the company decides to pay their CEO, is none of your business. Mind your own business. Worry about yourself.

You are not paying that CEO wage. And if the company didn't pay the CEO wage, it wouldn't go to you, so what do you care?

There are 1.7 Million traditional corporations operating in the US. How many examples do you have, of CEOs not producing value to the corporation, comparable to their pay? How many?

Because I have investments in a dozens of companies, and I've doubled my investment value, from how much I've put in. Clearly they are doing a good job in my opinion.

Based on what, would you claim they are not? Can you give me an example?

Even if you could, I doubt you really know what is going on. For example Tim Cook at Apple Computer, you might have said for the last few years, that Apple really hasn't done anything spectacular. But just last month, Apple unveiled that they had been developing their own micro processor, and it turns out it is faster than comparable Intel chips, uses a faction of the power, and is cheaper to manufacture.

Before this, you might have said "Tim Cook is way over paid for how little value he has added to Apple", and that's because you didn't know they were working hard behind the scenes to come up with a competitor to AMD and Intel, that is superior.

You don't know what all value CEOs have been creating, because you are not there, and you are not in the executive board room discussions. The people who do know if a CEO is producing good results, are the same people that decide how much his compensations package is.

Unemployment compensation is not welfare but a comprehensive insurance program that should actually solve for something, like simple poverty not nothing on a for-profit basis as right wingers would prefer.
Why should an insurance policy that covers temporary expenses associated with job loss attempt to solve poverty? That's not what it was designed for.
He sees the word "unemployment" in the name and assumes it covers him when he just doesn't want to work. And he won't deviate from it.
Individual liberty and natural rights, what is That sayeth the right wing in non-socialism threads.
Prove me wrong.
Individual liberty and natural rights already proved you wrong. You don't even understand the concepts only your right wing propaganda.

Individual liberty is enabled by equal protection of our at-will employment laws in any conflict of laws. UC codes cannot conflict with established federal doctrine or State Constitutions. Thus, employment is at the will of either party even for UC purposes.
You don't get it, your opinion doesn't count. Quote the actual law that establishes your right to collect UC when you don't qualify for it.

Financial transactions will not generate much taxes. Countries have tried this. They simply moved where they do their banking outside the country with those taxes.
Finance is strangling the productive economy in coils of debt that grows exponentially.

America’s Path To A FIRE Economy

Financial speculators who depend on the preeminent global reserve currency can have their spoils taxed, but not if you depend on elected Republicans OR Democrats to write the legislation.

No, not all the companies, but companies wouldn't have them if they had no value. It's just like entertainment. You have a star actress. People love her and anything she plays in. They give her 15 million dollars for one movie, and it's a flop. She still gets paid that 15 million dollars because it's contract work. They don't get paid by the hour like most people in this country.

Same for a CEO. He or she has a fantastic track record. They get another CEO job and don't have nearly the same results. They still get paid contract price.

It works like this: You and I both own widget factories. We are both looking for a CEO to run our business. The CEO wants one million dollars a year. If you don't want to hire him for a million a year, I will, and because of his experience and record, I'm going to cause a lot of damage to my competitors including you. That's why they make the kind of money they do.

Why do you believe it isn't. I can just as easily say it is; general welfare, what else could it be? Certainly not general warfare as the right wing would prefer.
I've already covered this here:
General welfare is things like infrastructure, a court system for resolving disputes, a border wall to discourage illegal entry, etc.
UC is implemented with existing legal and physical infrastructure that needs a simple "software upgrade" to actually solve simple poverty in a fine capital and market friendly manner.
Don't forget that it needs a completely new welfare program and a buttload of money that we don't have.

Trump won't go to prison. That's assured. He may pay some fines here or there, but he's not going to prison.
If so, that's only because Joe Biden reverts to his corporate roots and refuses to prosecute:

Losing Could Expose Trump to Prosecution for Any Number of Crimes

"Tax fraud seems to be a family tradition for Trump.

"The Trumps set up a company in 1992 owned by Trump, his siblings, and a cousin who apparently did nothing except siphon money from the real estate empire of Donald’s father, Fred Trump, into the company’s pockets.

"This allowed Fred to shower his children with millions of dollars in gifts without having to pay any gift tax."
It's been presidential tradition for a long time to leave the previous president alone, and Quid Pro Joe isn't likely to buck the trend. Trump isn't even likely to be prosecuted for most of the stuff that gives the haters wet dreams.
