UN action better be opposed by US

I just posted this on another thread. Here's yer investigation.

Video taken by IDF naval boat shows the passengers of the Mavi Marmara, one of the ships in the ‘Free Gaza’ Flotilla, violently attacking IDF soldiers who were trying to board the ship after having sent repeated requests for the boat to change course.

Large groups of passengers surrounded soldiers and beat them with metal poles and chairs, and threw one soldier over the side of the ship. Some passengers grabbed pistols from the IDF soldiers and opened fire. As a result of the attacks, seven IDF soldiers were injured, and nine of the passengers were killed.

It shows Israel attacking the ship. Is there a point here?

It shows the "peaceful" demonstrators as anything but. A well armed MOB of attackers attacking a LEGAL boarding of a vessel violating a LEGAL blockade. Firing at the soldiers, attacking them with batons and throwing them over railings.

Or are you also saying that a Country has no right to enforce a LEGAL Blockade of a hostile area? So you think the North Koreans should be free to fire on US servicemen if they board their boats while enforcing a blockade? The Iraqis under Saddam Hussein should have fired on US and International navies for boarding their vessels in the 90's?

That is what you are saying.

So you now support illegal activities on the high seas, thanks for letting us know Israel is not the only place you think the murder of Jews is acceptable.

on the open seas...piracy is normally fought.

So when we enforce LEGAL blockades on North Korea you have no problem with them opening fire on our Marines and sailors? That is after all what you JUST said.

A blockade is an act of war. You should be prepared for any blowback resulting from that action.

The blockade against Gaza is an act of war and rockets were the blowback.

Attacking a civilian ship in international waters is legal? You are starting to think like those retards in Israel.

cause all 'peace activists' carry pipes, axes, knives...

lying freak. :cuckoo:

What has happened is this:

A military operation has rendered a number of unarmed civilians dead. The incident took place on international waters.

This is not okay.

Compare it to Waco or anything you like, when military or para military force is used upon civilians a pretty high degree of responsability comes with it.

If the ships couldn't be stopped without killing civilians - it couldn't be stopped - period.

The investigation is not about Israel or Palistine or Gaza or who is right or wrong. It is to find out what happened all the way.

It isn't the scenario at hand now, is it? IF you want to stop a vessel with hundereds of potentionally aggresive people you go in with the force required to ensure you can contain the aggression. Or you leave it be. As soon as you have control YOU are in charge and responsible for what will happen next. That is the flip side of initiative. Having a man in distress firing an automatic rifle with the result of civilian casualties is a military fuck up nothing less. Agreed?

Exactly. What were those assholes doing on that boat to begin with ?

These are the assholes all of you brainwashed, fairy tale believing dolts look up to as " Gawdz chosen". Self Chosen.

I vote that Obama will fold like a cheap tent and side with Israel.

The US always has. I don't see Obama taking great enough of a political risk to change that, but he's surprised me before. It would be nice if he did so in this case.

How in the world can a retired Marine defemd a foreign nation boarding a US flagged/registered vessel in international waters, taking unarmed US citizens prisoner. Placing said citizens in custody, then only releasing them if they 1) identify themselves or 2) sign papers saying they enterd the country illegally?! It shouldn't matter which country does this, it needs to be universally condemed.

After all this country has gone to war in the past for actions like this, if anyone should know that I would think it would be a Marine. (Lt. Pressely O'Bannon)
