dear, the crisis occured all over the world even in very heavily regulated Europe thus indicating that American individuals were not responsible. Besides, many of the biggest Wall Street firms went bankrupt. That is the punishment in capitalism. Liberal govt caused the crisis by having 132 programs to get people into homes the Republican free market said they could not afford. Also, capitalism and freedom depends upon intelligent shoppers. When you make a poor purchase, in this case a mortgage you cant afford, you pay the price and assume responsibility. If the purchaser does not assume responsibiity for his actions then you need a communst govt to police every single transaction on the assumption people are too stupid for freedom. Get it now?
