I think you are right there. I didn't know enough about this to know what was going on so I checked out what a professor of Political Thought who specialised in Democracy thought. He had been to see Assange and strongly supported Assange in his Hilary emails. He believed it was essential for democracy that such things are allowed.

Agreed, but this is a terrible injustice that has heinous consequences.

We’ve witnessed a tremendous increase in censorship since Assange was first imprisoned. They censored Alex Jones early on and all said good thing. Then they censored a sitting potus albeit an asshole, but if they can do that they can censor anyone. This all happened in the just the last five or six years.

He certainly has grounds to appeal this and if that doesnt work he can take it to Strasbourg. I think his chances there are very good considering he has spent 3 years in Belmarch already.

The thing that should reassure him is the heer incompetence of Patel. Its possible she wants it to go to the ECHR to stoke their culture war.

Yes and he has been really out of the world for ten years because of this. Priti Patel is a very far right member of the Government. Remember she was the one who went off to Israel and started having talks with Netanyahu and company apparently on her own except for the Zionist leader who took her. So after these talks she was trying to get UK taxpayers to pay for Israel offering medical attention to ISIS types in/from Syria area. One of the strange things about Julian's trial was that the judge had some special interest. Can't remember what exactly but something to do with her husband. There is also the fact that the US were listening into him even when he was speaking to his lawyer - something which normally results in the person being freed as innocent. That was tried in Spain. There is just everything wrong here but them being able to continue with it, I believe as above because they managed to get journalists to shut up and no one or very few people know about it. Deeply concerning that we have come down to this level.

About Strasburg I would think they would need to do the case without him and surely that would take a few more years. He is apparently losing it. A few years ago the UN person with this expertise said Assange was showing signs of mental torture. I am not sure what the EU's position is on freedom of the press these days.

The UK has apparently been given the US's absolute guarantee that this will not happen to him and that probably he will go to a prison in Australia in a couple of years. Not saying that is what will happen but it is what they claimed after he was not going to the US as the judge thought he would definitely commit suicide. As if Belmarsh is much better. He should of course be being released now.

And the UK govt is complicit in this. I suspect that there will be some sort of pay off for this. Having said that our govt is acting like an authoritarian govt with Mrs Patel in the vanguard.

Our right to rpoyest is under attack with laws against making noise being proposed.

There is an "online safety" bill being proposed which has clauses against "dangerous" articles. Even tories are disgusted by that.

And . then there is the rwanda offshoring which violates the \geneva convention. The same govt who grant asylum to 100k Ukrainians cant take in any Afghans.

There are many other examples which basically stem from them having too much power.


We will have huge constitutional changes after we get rid of these *****.
