Okay so the vast majority of cops don't beat a man to death every day. That doesn't change that these 5 cops did and even their police chief abandoned them as soon as she saw the video.

Are these officers bad apples? They've been fired rather quickly. In Canada, they'd be fully paid for years. This is how important someones civil liberties must be, the chief apparently (from comments here) made a quick decision based on the video.

Most police are of course good people. Like any career, especially where power is concerned; it can also attract bad characters.

Or you could look at it like a glaring example of how we need to reform our police forces across America. And we need to fix our crazy culture too. Perhaps the cops represent our culture. If you have a violent greedy evil culture of course the cops will be the same. You don't send lambs in to fight lions.

Anyways, this is an example of how police need to change how they interact with us citizens. It could be you or me next.

If the police stop killing unarmed defenseless people then maybe the media will stop reporting on the police killing unarmed defenseless people.

They usually are in this country, as well. Since this is an extremely high profile case, they'll likely find a way to stop that, but in low profile cases, they remain on paid leave, and if they have enough time, are often allowed to retire with a full pension.

As I said, this is a once in a million occurrence. There are 50 million police encounters a year. We hear about something like this maybe once or twice a year. It’s exceedingly rare.
