Two people were killed in a jihadi attack on the Campement Kangaba hotel resort on the outskirts of the Mali capitol of Bamako on Sunday afternoon. At least 30 other guests were able to escape. No immediate claim of responsibility has been made.

Gunmen attack resort in Mali's capital, killing 2

Four muslim terrorists participated in the attack, of which three were subsequently killed while the fourth escaped. One of the jihadis arrived on motorcycle, shouting "allah Akbar", followed by the other three in a car attacking guests in the pool area with gunfire. An off-duty French soldier shot and wounded one of the terrorists early in the attack.

This is the most recent in a string of attacks in the Malian capitol. Most famously, the Radisson Blu hotel attack on 20 November 2015 saw over 170 hostages taken and 20 subsequently slain by muslim terrorists affiliated with the local al-Qaeda groups al-Mourabitoun & al-Qaeda in the Islamic Mahgrib.

French peace-keepers are currently involved in fighting terrorists groups in northern Mali.
