ERBIL, Kurdistan Region (Kurdistan24) - Turkey's army, a key NATO ally, announced on Friday the killing of 71 US-backed Kurdish People's Protection Units (YPG) who are fighting the Islamic State (IS) in Syria.

In a press release, the Turkish General Staff said the figure belonged to the dates March 2-9, as a ground incursion into northern Syria largely halted due to an encounter with the US and Russian armies in a strip of land crowded with competing forces.

In total, Turkey killed 425 and wounded 37 YPG fighters in the area since the beginning of the Operation Euphrates Shield in August 2016, read the release.

The announcement came as the US strengthened its foothold in Syria with additional special operations soldiers and armed vehicles seen patrolling a demarcation line between YPG-led Syrian Democratic Forces (SDF) and Turkish army proxies near the town of Manbij to keep clashes at bay."

This can't surprise anyone with any knowledge of Turkey.

The Turks hate the Kurds. They hate them blindly and unreasonably. They will try to kill each other every chance they get.

Couple that with Erdogan thinking HE will actually lead the revival of the Ottoman Empire and you have afire waiting to start.

Another day, another war. When will Americans tire of this Perpetual War agenda? What the hell are we doing invading Syria? Just more 'Empire-Building' at the end of the day. Exactly what are Founding Fathers warned against. But hey, enjoy another bloody quagmire folks. And stay tuned, because your Government has lots more of em planned for you. :(

What does trump have to do with this?

Anyone else think we are going to see this war deepen?

He doesn't have much to do with it. This invasion was planned a long time ago. The CIA/MIC have been planning 'Regime Change' in Syria long before Trump or ISIS. They're just carrying out their plan.

The last President to oppose the CIA/MIC, didn't fare too well. JFK tried, but it ended very badly for him. And since then, no other American President has tried to oppose the CIA/MIC.

Yes, they are. I give it 10 years before WWIII.

The US relationship with Turkey is rapidly deteriorating. The massive US support for the Kurds has infuriated Turkey. But Turkey has no business being in Syria. And neither does the US. They should both exit immediately.

Turkey is hosting 14% of Syria'a population as refugees.
These are just the official numbers.
In reality it should be every 5th Syrian being a refugee in Turkey.
UNHCR Syria Regional Refugee Response

As a service to humanity Turkey has a business in Syria.
To provide these refugees safe return to their homes.

It's been proven Turkey was doing business with ISIS. And now it's exploiting the Syrian Civil War to slaughter Kurds. Turkey needs to leave Syria. The US should too. Both never had any business meddling in that conflict.
