Trump's post mortem

Trump has been planning this for over 30 years. He knows how slow the wheels of justice turn. Even if nothing of relevance is substantiated, Trump knows how to game the system. When Trump entered his first term he didnt just knock over the apple cart, he broke it nearly beyond repair. If he would have remained in office the establishment would continued its resistance. Now he steps back and lets them eat their own from within. He will return stronger than ever.
If THAT don't sound like Q bullshit...

HE GOT MORE VOTES THAN ANY SITTING PRESIDENT EVER.

More than Obama, more than Bush, more than Clinton
But less than Biden.
Oh well. That's how it works.

Wanting something REAL BAD has very little value

That was not the purpose of my post. I am sorry you missed the point being made.

My point was not that Trump got an enormous amount of votes......., but you cant say, as the OP claimed that a man who received more votes than any other sitting president in history buried himself.

Perhaps that is a little to deep for you to comprehend.

He SHOULD have won going away...had he not completely botched the virus response.

You know how many votes somebody gets means absolutely nothing. It's how many votes you get, compared to the other guy.

Obama got fewer votes in 2012 than he did in 2008, but that doesn't mean he should have lost. And Trump got more votes in 2020 than he did in 2016, but that doesn't mean he should have won.

I remember the Olympics where Eric Heiden took all those gold medals at the 1980 Olympics. The thing about that is that the people who took the silver would have set an Olympic record if you discounted Heidens performance. It just goes to show, your performance isn't rated on an absolutely scale, but relative.

Excuse me....

I was referring to the OP who claimed that Trump buried himself and that is why he lost and all I did is point out that a sitting president who gets more votes than any other president in US history did not bury himself.

He simply lost the election.

That does not mean he buried himself.

Not sure why you guys don't understand the point

Dukakis? He buried himself.

Gore? Did not.

Trump? Did not.

Trump absolutely buried himself. Why else would 80 million people come out against him, in favor of a person who was a mere sidekick to Barack Obama.
Joe isn't a brilliant man, he's not a young man. He's not a visionary, he didn't have a message of hope and change.
The only thing Biden stood for was he was the alternative to another Trump term.

True.

But when you have a 92% negative media coverage and still get nearly 50% of the popular vote....you cant say he buried himself.

Curious...Did Hillary bury herself? Or was that a stolen ejection? Or did she simply lose?

Would love to see your response to that and then compare it to previous posts of yours.

Trump lost because college-educated white guys swung big against him in the swing states Trump lost.

"Flipped" are the five swing states Trump won in 2016 but lost in 2020. "Held" are the five swing states Trump won in 2016 and 2020.

First, some poster above states that Politico is not a credible news source.
OK, let's so stipulate for the sake of this narrative.

But thing is.... Politico did not create the 'postmortem' report.
Tony Fabrizio did
He works for Don Trump.
He did the 'postmortem' for Trump.
Politico.....and a host of other outlets...merely reported it.

Shux, the poster dissing Politico can sidestep them completely and find the entire 27 page report with a nano-google. It's been out there for weeks.

Which brings us back to the findings of that 'postmortem' by Don Trump's own hired guy, Fabrizio.

We see two of the key take-aways discovered by Fabrizio, namely:
"he wasn't honest or trustworthy and was crushed by disapproval of his handling of the coronavirus pandemic" .

To perhaps overdrive the nail, but still keep the points clear and visible:
  • Don Trump lost because too many Americans don't trust him;
  • and too many Americans thought he was incompetent in his Covid response.
It doesn't take fraud, or a 'stolen election' or Captain Obvious......to know that being untrustworthy and incompetent are pretty darn big hurdles to overcome in a popularity contest.

And Don Trump didn't overcome them.
And then his own hired man told him that.

I think the two takeaways of the 2020 election were, No. 1: Don’t be a jerk. Most Republicans significantly outperformed Trump at the ballot box...And No. 2: Don’t be a socialist. When you look at the border of Texas, which is heavily Latino, why did we see increases in Republican voters? Part of it was because of this notion that the Democratic Party supports open borders, defunding the police, defunding ICE...they’re against even natural gas. Along the border, something like 40 percent of those families are connected to law enforcement. And then another large percent is connected to the energy sector. Voters believed the Democratic Party was going to be against our livelihood.

the takeaway from 2016: Hillary was a terrible candidate and Bernie would have beaten Trump!

Done by Trump's chief pollster, the analysis gives us a very accurate picture of how and why Trump's monumental, landslide 2020 election defeat happened, and it weren't "voter fraud."

Key sentences from this in-house report:
"he wasn't honest or trustworthy and was crushed by disapproval of his handling of the coronavirus pandemic" and,

"And while Trump spread baseless accusations of ballot-stuffing in heavily Black cities, the report notes that he was done in by hemorrhaging support from white voters."

Personally, I was heavily critical of Trump's handling of the pandemic, especially his repeated calls to "re-open the economy." In the end, his strategy to ensure defeat by President Biden was perfectly executed. So, I apologize to Trump for being so critical, and say to him, "Sir, I'm glad you did it the way you did! Bigly!!!
Trump's chief pollster must be a radical pinko Hitler Venezuelan Deep State Swamp Commie now!

OH NO

This is what I said all year long was going to nail him. It was evident to anyone without Trumpeteer blinders on. There was no stolen election. They didn't need to steal it. Trump was the architect of his own demise.

A Dem district in a battle ground state reported low voter turn out on election day, no lines, the liberal news was concerned. Then the next day as if by magic election day turn out was an all time historic high based on the votes supposedly cast. Go ahead explain this.

If you just landed on earth from Mars you would think Trump won the freaking election and Biden isn't around anymore. Why are democrats acting like losers when they won all the marbles?

Trump sabotaged his reelection.. He doesn't want to be president.. He just wants donations.
