There's no such thing as "free trade", ...it's regulated , always has been , always will be.

No matter how much you lower wages in the USA, you'll never be able to "compete" with countries in Asia that pay 17 cents per day, and countries like China who have at least 8 million people in slave labor.

So the liberals know that "free trade" and "compete" only result in the destruction of the USA, that's why they use those terms.

I wouldn't use the word "protectionism" I would use the term "equalized trading standards" It cost X amount of dollars for them to make something in their country. We tax them the difference between what it cost to make it there vs what it cost to make it here thus evening the playing field.

Imports are a luxury and should cost more than Domestic.
