"MorningStar Ministries founder and pastor, Rick Joyner, pleaded with the "true disciples of Christ" in America to rise up and prepare for war with the "evil" forces which he baselessly claimed "stole" the November election from former President Donald Trump. The longtime Fort Mill, South Carolina, pastor was introduced by evangelical televangelist Jim Bakker on his Monday broadcast as a Christian "prophet." Joyner urged Trump supporters and Christians alike to buy up arms in preparation for a coming "civil war.'

Longtime Missouri-based program host Bakker, who is a convicted felon and was sued last March for selling a "coronavirus cure" to his viewers, pressed Joyner to explain how "cancel culture" is destroying the foundations of America. Neither man mentioned that their church members were part of the early 2000s effort to "cancel" the Harry Potter book series over witchcraft concerns."

Why does this guy and others like him keep referring to themselves as prophets even tho they are wrong over and over again...this is the same guy who predicted Trump would win and remain in office....and these right-wing crypto fascist faux-Christians have been whining about "political correctness" ever since it became unpopular to call a black child the N-word for having the audacity to be a student at the same school their kids attend; so this "there's gonna be a civil war" bullshit is something they keep pushing because they are the only ones who continuously fantasizes about a civil war.....seeing as tho they are still butt hurt about losing the last one.....and are now butt hurt about the fact they are losing their so-called culture war.

People like this do more to destroy Christianity than any militant atheist could ever dream of.

Hear! Hear! You nailed it. I was raised raised in a Christian denomination and I still occasionally attend services held by two different denominations, depending on whether I'm in the mood for going full liturgical or not. But now, when someone just says that they are "Christian," I expect that they will say something bizarre and probably hateful and I turn them off completely. Jesus never would condone charlatans like joyner, graham, of jeffress, who seem to be totally unfamiliar with his teachings.

I'm sure almost all Christians are preparing for civil war..... but in a different way.

So religious people shouldn't be politically active???
Evangelicals set the worst kind of example both from their holy roller religious practices and their hateful hard right political positions. No one but assholes want to join an asshole club. I see nothing that looks like Jesus in their political movement disguised as a religion.

Scofield was deliberately political.

Already prepared.

Again.

Again.

For the last 20 years.

Valhalla, I am coming.

Joyner had a book years ago picturing civil war among Christians - the "blues and the greys" - everything. Some people liked it; I felt his cheese had slid off his cracker back before 2000.
