As is his custom as a daytime television star, Trump issued an emergency order grounding the 737 Max 8 and the 737 Max 9.

After FAA had already decided to do exactly that.

The Federal Aviation Administration on Wednesday grounded all Boeing 737 Max jets in the U.S., citing new evidence that showed similarities between two fatal crashes of the popular planes that have killed 346 people in less than five months.

The crash of Ethiopian Airlines Flight 302 on Sunday came less than five months after a Lion Air Boeing 737 Max 8 — the same type of plane — plunged into the Java Sea minutes into the flight from Jakarta, Indonesia, killing all 189 people on board. Both planes were new, delivered from Boeing just months before their doomed flights.

The FAA said the grounding will remain in effect while it investigates the crash.

New satellite data shows the plane’s movement was similar to the October crash, the FAA’s acting administrator Daniel Elwell told reporters on a call Wednesday. The agency also took physical evidence into account, but Elwell declined to elaborate.

“It became clear the track was very close and behaved similarly to the Lion Air flight,” Elwell told reporters on a call Wednesday. “My hope is the FAA, the carriers, the manufacturers and all parties will work very hard to make this grounding as short as possible so that these airplanes can get back up in the sky.”

Passenger Mort Greenberg was waiting at the gate in Miami on American Airlines Flight 2809 when the news broke that President Trump was grounding all Boeing Max 8 planes.

He was scheduled to fly on a Max 8 plane. His flight, however, had already been canceled, according to American Airlines’ website. Within 5 minutes AA had sent him a notice of rebooking without having to ask.

Trump issued an emergency order for an action already taken by the FAA. That sounds so much like Trump. He always has to be the center of attention even when a federal agency is simply doing its job.

The fool even admits talking to Boeing and the FAA before taking issuing the order.

"President Donald Trump said he spoke with Boeing’s CEO, Transportation Secretary Elaine Chao and the acting head of the Federal Aviation Administration, Daniel Elwell about the decision."

“They are all in agreement with the action," Trump said.

Of course, they were. That had already been decided.

wow. trump does what he should do and you still bitch.

and that's why he won.

seems like he won because he ran against the worst/most flawed candidate in the history of the nation who also basically quit campaigning in August because she thought she had the election in the bag...but that is just me rambling I suppose

Yea...four years of bogus Hillary "investigations" , Russian interference, and a couple of Comey statements.

You gotta wonder...what conjunction of the stars brought us Donald Trump, destined to be one of the greatest Presidents in history, running against the worst candidate in history? Weird.
Btw she is now saying she lost because Wisconsin officials barred blacks from polling booths.

Hillary Clinton Is Still Deeply Confused About What Happened in Wisconsin. Here’s Why That Matters.

“After having had three years to grapple with the realities of a vital Democratic base in the Midwest, it seems Clinton still hasn’t learned her lesson. If this is any indication of the party’s 2020 strategy, it may be handing Trump another victory.”

May be?

He's dumb as driveway gravel and every time he opens his fat orange yap, the world laughs or cringes.

What I've been thinking is that he could have spent the rest of his life in the same lying, cheating and stealing as in the past but no - He just had to pretend to president. Dingbat has never before been up against the US government before.

You're full of shit. She had to cancel campaign rallies because she was very sick. Apparently she was hospitalized with a bout of alcoholic's pneumonia.

Trump has done this before. As a matter of fact, if there is an important issue somewhere in the world, Trump will thrust himself into the middle of the matter because his narcissistic persona requires him to be at the center of any melodrama. Two identical aircraft crashing within five months of one another fits perfectly for him.

In March 2017, Trump received an envoy from Kim Jong Un's ally, the President of South Korea, Moon Jae-in. Trump liked what he heard from Kim's ally and he immediately decided to meet with the North Korean dictator, something no other President had done for a multitude of reasons. Trump consulted no one before making this decision, not his SecState, not his NSA, and not his intelligence agencies. In fact he made the decision soon after his chat with the envoy.

Trump's decision was so abrupt, there was no one around to announce the decision. So, the envoy did it. South Korean national security adviser Chung Eui-yong told reporters of the decision after meeting with Trump at the White House. https://www.usatoday.com/story/news...or-announcement-coming-north-korea/408781002/

Trump just had to get into the act.

Without preliminary agreements, without the involvement of the state department to any measurable degree, the lead diplomat at the Singapore summit, President Trump, experienced total failure.

Naturally, the self-centered Trump had to try again, this time in Hanoi, Vietnam. The Hanoi summit was another debacle and soon afterwards new photographs from commercial satellites showed activity at a variety of sites related to North Korea's space and missile programs. The North seemed to be preparing for a launch.

But, for a few weeks there, Trump was the center of attention.

He became the center of attention again in July of 2018, but for all the wrong reasons. Again without any preliminary agreements and little or no involvement of the state department, our lead diplomat met with Vladimir Putin in Helsinki, Finland, a stone's throw from the northern border of Russia. Trump went to Putin, but that was only the beginning of the disaster. He met privately with Putin for two hours, and only interpreters were present. No one, not even Trump's SecState and NSA, knows what was said during those two hours.

But Putin knows.

Then, to a world-wide television audience, Trump said he did not believe his intelligence agencies concerning Russian interference in our Presidential election. He believed Putin because he sounded sincere.

Obviously, Trump became the center of the world's attention ... again. His naiveté was on full display ... again.

Trump just can't help himself. He must get into the act.

Well, guess that Trump had to do SOMETHING. And, for once, he did something right. Although, to tell you the truth, when all the other countries started grounding that aircraft would have been the best time to do it, not doing it dead last and looking like you were dragging your feet concerning safety.
