I think that the CNN commentator Van Jones succinctly described Mr. Trump's victory in 2016 as a "whitelash."

I assume that Mr. Jones meant that enough Caucasian Americans were concerned about undocumented immigration & the violence in Missouri and other places during the preceding eight years that they gave Mr. Trump a small margin of victory over Secretary Clinton.

If the vote last month accurately reflects the sentiment of the nation today, it would appear -- despite surges of undocumented immigration & the violence this Spring & Summer -- that many Caucasian Americans are no longer that concerned about those topics and that they are more interested in other matters, such as health insurance, income inequality, climate change, etc.

The issue is that all of the quotas and PC and Diversity is not the same as what was moving us along as a nation before. We are declining. the national IQ is lowering. We can not compete as we did before and the costs of us building things is becoming more and more expensive. We print fiat currency out of the wazoo and much of the money goes into real estate and financial investments causing massive false inflated prices. If it went into say, food we would be paying ten dollars for a cup of mickee dees one dollar coffee. The demographics are bad. When I was in 7th and 8th grade civics classes, I remember learning that one of the great things about the U.S. political system is that its leaders (including the chain of command in the military" are NOT irreplaceable.

In many other political systems, if you cut off the head, the rest of the snake will DIE.

TRUMP benefitted from a political movement that was and still is far greater than himself. That movement does not cease to exist after any election (corrupt or not.) In fact, seeing the numbers at Trump's rallies, I believe the movement is as strong as it has ever been.
