One of the strangest whipsaws I have ever seen was on this forum. I came here in 2011 and pseudocons were still claiming Saddam had WMDs.

Whenever chemical weapons turned up anywhere on Earth, is was guaranteed the pseudocons would claim that country got them from Saddam.

Syria, for example. I well remember the screaming match over Syria having gotten the chemical weapons from Saddam which Assad used on the rebels.

This went on and on for almost the next four years after I came here. They must have been doing it since 2003. I don't know how long this forum has been around.

Then...in 2015...Trump spouted the longstanding liberal narrative that our intelligence agencies lied, Bush lied, there were no WMDs in Iraq.

And not one pseudocon has claimed Saddam had WMDs ever since.

But that was kind of the point. He was told to destroy them, and they did so by taking these shells and burying them, because they didn't know how to destroy them. Of course, you store chemical weapons underground for 10 years, they aren't going to retain their potency at all.

But some fool dug one up and set it off and suddenly they are screaming about WMD's.
