"Trump Announces Iran Deal ‘Largely Negotiated’, Strait of Hormuz to Be Opened

President Donald Trump announced on Saturday that a peace deal between the United States, Iran, and other regional partners has been “largely negotiated”, including the opening of the Strait of Hormuz.

Taking to his Truth Social platform, President Trump said that following an Oval Office call on Saturday with leaders from the Middle East and a separate call with Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu, a “Memorandum of Understanding” pertaining to peace between Washington and Tehran has been agreed to in principle.

Among those President Trump spoke with on Saturday were Saudi Crown Prince Mohammed bin Salman, UAE President Mohammed bin Zayed Al Nahyan, Emir of Qatar Tamim bin Hamad bin Khalifa Al Thani, Qatari Prime Minister Mohammed bin Abdulrahman bin Jassim bin Jaber Al Thani, Pakistani Chief of Defence Syed Asim Munir Ahmed Shah, Turkish President Recep Tayyip Erdoğan, Egyptian President Abdel Fattah El-Sisi, King of Jordan Abdullah II, and King of Bahrain Hamad bin Isa Al Khalifa.

“An Agreement has been largely negotiated, subject to finalization between the United States of America, the Islamic Republic of Iran, and the various other Countries, as listed,” he wrote."

Democrats will be devastated, if peace is restored and gas prices fall. They want the American People to suffer for political gain.

I look forward to getting the details. I don’t know if Iran will ever be able to approve these terms.

But I am sure that Iran can be relied upon to honor their word! Yes. It’s clear. It’s unquestionable.

😏

That’s pretty ******* funny.

It’s funny because, in a weird way, it’s actually true.
Reminds me of that time in the debate where McFuddled Potato got lost in his own words and meekly mumbled his final words
Trump replied along the lines of “I don’t know what he just said. I don’t believe he does, either.”

That, too, was ******* funny and it, too, was funny because it was true.

I don’t know if Iran will ever be able to approve these terms.

Who's kidding who, BA? I mean, IMO, there is ZERO chance of Iran ever agreeing to any terms that fully satisfy Trump and give him even the basics of what we want.

And I cannot believe Trump would sell out just over the midterms hoping to regain polling numbers, so all that leaves is to stomp Iran a new mudhole until they have no choice but to concede, which was what I kind of thought was the whole original mission directive.

Iran will still control Hormuz,
STILL? They have NEVER controlled the Strait. They have only temporarily bulled traffic from using it this past month because of threats of attack the insurers are not willing to insure against. That is not going to stand up long term and sooner or later some country or countries are going to come in there and smack Iran on the pee-pee and wake them up if they persist too long. ITMT, every nation in the area is building pipelines to deliver oil to their tankers without using the Strait, then Iran is really screwed. Once no one but Iran needs the Persian gulf for export, guess what will happen the the Strait?

effectively shaking down transit fees
Aha. At 2 million a pop, this raises the cost of the oil as high as if they just don't buy oil from the Persian Gulf at all. If it costs as much to get screwed over by Iran as not, guess which other countries will pick? Iran is screwed again.

They'll still have their uranium
What uranium? It is 2000 feet underground buried under a caved in mountain, surround by and covered over with reinforced concrete rubble that was designed to withstand a bomb. It'll be a bear to even get to the stuff, then the whole refining facility necessary to refine it to full weapons grade has also been destroyed. And the minute we see anyone screwing around those sites trying to dig anything up, we'll drop a MOAB on their ass. Iran is totally screwed.

They'll still have the same leadership in charge.
Wake up Dingbat--- their top 50 military, governmental and scientific leaders were all killed on Day 1. Right now, I'm not sure they know who is effectively running anything anymore. But I like your idea that these people left will all keep making the same mistakes that brought them to this point in time! Iran is so screwed.

Trump lost.
And yet, he has lost nothing and everything has gone his way. The only reason that Iran is still standing and not just a big smoldering hole in the ground is because he was already at that point 6 weeks ago, but kindly stopped trying to give Iran an opportunity to recapitulated while there is still a country left.

Looks like Iran may have already crossed that line. There is only so much slack we can cut Iran before they force us to begin battering them to hell again.

Trump lost.
Iran's enriched uranium is still buried,
Iran's ICBM development program was destroyed
Iran's military was severely damaged
Iran will be busy repairing their infrastructure instead of developing nukes
Iran cannot sell oil when the US blockades Oman, Iran has no money,
Iran lost, Trump won.

"What's in the deal

Both sides would sign a memorandum of understanding (MOU) that would last 60 days and could be extended by mutual consent.
  • During the 60-day period, the Strait of Hormuz would be open with no tolls and Iran would agree to clear the mines it deployed in the strait to let ships pass freely.
  • In exchange, the U.S. would lift its blockade on Iranian ports and issue some sanctions waivers to allow Iran to sell oil freely.
  • The U.S. official acknowledged that would be a boon to Iran's economy, but said it would also give significant relief to the global oil market.
The U.S. official said the faster the Iranians clear the mines and let shipping resume, the faster the blockade will be lifted.
  • The official said Trump's key principle in the agreement is "relief for performance."
  • Iran wanted funds unfrozen immediately and permanent sanctions relief, but the U.S. side said that would only happen after tangible concessions were made, according to the official."

Um, Iran honored it's commitments to JCPOA.

Trump tore the treaty up.

Iran was negotiating in Geneva in good faith. Trump and the Head Jew attacked them anyway.

Seems like if anyone doesn't keep their word, it's Trump.
