Not quite true. All gas from NS2 and Turkish stream was shipped through Ukraine. And even with that, Ukraine's gas transit system didn't work at full capacity.

But I agree that this pipeline is a victory for Russia and a setback for European security. The NATO members should seek a way to lessen their dependency on Russia, not the other way around.
