Do you know the movie the Truman Show? If I go through a little psychosis then I get a little paranoid, memories come up and it all looks a bit like a conspiracy like the Truman Show that I'm part of an experiment

I used to work with this brilliant chemist. One of the things he said that will always stick with me is how the younger generation bases life off of tv. Its detrimental to society. And their reality.

You would make a fine republican.

It is taught in the culture.

The young are taught that the only thing life is worth, is either to be rich or famous. If you don't have power, notoriety, or material possessions? Then your life is a failure.

. . . so naturally, when they can't all be YouTube stars, they embrace socialism as the quickest way to social equality. It has been indoctrinated into the young since at least the 70's.

When I was younger I was like Steve Tyler "All my life is books written pages, live and learn from fools and from sages."

Were we so different, despite the medium that we used? Books, some fiction, some not, shaped my world view in my youth.

Take your pale ass out side . Get some sun. Qyit fucking worrying. Life is a gift then you die. Pretty simple. Even if this was an experiment it would not change a damn thing. Find something to like and freaking do it.

Most reassuring.

Reading is likely the greatest difference between our side and theirs.

Says the person who's preferred party is actually admittingly involved in "the great Experiment" of this country, posted in a discussion forum version of "Dinner for Schmucks".
