Turkey delivered dozens of TRLG-230 precision-guided missiles to Ukraine in the early summer, two sources familiar with the issue told Middle East Eye.

Developed by Turkish producer Roketsan, the 230mm TRLG-230 missile has high accuracy against targets within a range of 20-70 km, thanks to its global positioning system (GPS) and laser guidance.

The TRLG-230 can be combined with multiple rocket launchers, known as MLRS, whose American equivalent, the High Mobility Artillery Rocket System (HIMARS), has been very effective against the Russian forces in Ukraine.

Laser guided Rocket artillery.

The TRLG-230 would offer Ukrainian forces a valuable additional precision-guided stand-off strike capability that is distinct from the munitions it has available for its Western-supplied HIMARS and MLRS launchers. The M30/M31 rockets for use in those launchers have a similar maximum range to the TRLG-230, but only feature GPS-assisted inertial navigation system (INS) guidance. As such those munitions can only be employed against fixed targets.
The TRLG-230s with their added laser guidance capability means they strike moving targets. In addition, the rockets have high-explosive blast-fragmentation warheads and can be fitted with proximity fuzes, further improving their ability to engage threats that are on the move.

Himars = GPS guided against fixed targets
TRLG-230 = laser-guided (drones, soldiers) against moving targets

Bayraktar Akinci can fire TRLG-230 after a few modifications and has a range of 150km. Ukraine running out of missiles given by other countries, for example fired 13 years of Stinger stock of all countries supporting them in 10 months and no Stingers left.
