Documents reviewed by the Herald show that Alex Alvarado, a young Tallahassee-based Republican strategist, was behind two political committees, The Truth and Our Florida, that were set up to buy political mail advertisements that praised no-party candidates as progressives in three Senate races.

Alvarado said no one hired him to execute the effort. He said it was a “business venture.” His stepfather, Luis Rodriguez, operates Advance Impressions LLC, which printed $550,000 worth of political mail ads, according to campaign finance records.

“This is an independent expenditure effort. Per law, there was no coordination with these candidates and especially not with anyone who may or may not have recruited them,” Alvarado said in a text message to the Herald.

That means that the money was not spent in coordination with and independent of the official campaigns, per Alvarado.

Anything out of Delaware is sham.

Frenchie downvotes in 3 minutes which is not long enough for him to have read the article. Poor Frenchie.

Well this leads us to a nation wide issue, who is funding these liberal progressives, BLM & MSM propaganda machine? Something smells like chop suey here.

The most puzzling part of this story imo: "Investigators are also probing who was behind $550,000 that paid for political mail pieces that advertised the no-party candidates. The money has so far been untraceable, as have portions of the nearly $50,000 investigators say Artiles paid Rodriguez."

How can anyone spend around half a million and not use any type of transaction history? Surely that much would be hard to spend as cash only? I don't get it.

Racist! Using white privilege, exercising white supremacy by calling it dark money! Stop the hate!

Will this hate never end!

Getting dark money out of politics should be a bipartisan effort......

Unless one side tends to be more reliant on it to win elections than the other side

It should be but it's not.

Florida had a few races where spoilers were put in to the races that would prevent the Democratic candidate from a win....

talk about scuzzy politics.... Cheating.

Repubs or someone wanting repubs to win, got a third candidate on to the ballot, with the same last name as the Democratic candidate, Rodriguez.

so the vote for the Democratic Rodriguez running and the Spoiler Rodriguez candidate discreetly put on the ballot by these dark money groups, was split in voter confusion, and this gave the Republican candidate the win....

Honestly, can you get any scuzzier?

and a system of election fraud that prevents us from knowing who funded the scam?
