Absolutely insane. America must subjugate itself to others! Remnants of the Obama groveling Apology Tour.

Isolationism doesn't work. We know this to be true. And let's face it, Trump's policy wasn't America First, it was just isolationism wrapped up in a patriotic slogan.
If he really wanted to put "America First", then the pandemic would have never gotten the foothold it did in this country. But he didn't care about it. Just his re-election.

So that makes it "Trump First". That rings true.

Must be time to start redistributing the wealth once again. John Kerry is on board to get rid
of the energy independence that we enjoyed under Trump.

Many see strength in numbers and value in a global alliance for intel and national security purposes. Do you not agree?

Like the intel that Bush received from the global alliance regarding Saddam Hussein's weapons of mass destruction?

We are not a fledgling empire that needs protection. We are (sadly) the worlds nanny.

Enough

saying we donā€™t need it is not a counterpoint to what I said.

Why is being the worlds nanny a sad thing?

Whatā€™s insane is referring to oneā€™s fellow Americans as ā€˜traitorsā€™ when they engage in good faith opposition ā€“ and opposition to ā€˜America firstā€™ is indeed warranted.

The fact is that ā€˜America firstā€™ was an unmitigated failure ā€“ often making America last.

And itā€™s a lie to claim that justified opposition to the failed policy of ā€˜America firstā€™ is to advocate America be ā€˜subjugatedā€™ to other countries ā€“ the notion is as ignorant as it is ridiculous and wrong.

ā€œThe best strategy for ensuring safety and prosperity is to buttress American military strength with enhanced civilian tools and a restored network of solid alliances ā€” both necessary to achieving defense in depthā€¦ā€ ibid

Correct ā€“ alliances damaged by Trumpā€™s failed policy of ā€˜America first.ā€™

Blame Saddam for that. He destroyed them in secret so Iran would think he still had them. He should have let inspectors witness the disposal of the nerve gas and other chemical weapons. By the way, there were still chemical weapons found in Iraq, but our left wing media did a pretty good job of keeping that fact super quiet.

I can't believe Mad Dog Mattis went all puppy

Then DONā€™T believe this nonsense.

What NOBODY should believe is the childish simplifications one reads in this NY Post article ... and in most USMB comments.
Trump liked the nickname ā€œMad Dog Mattisā€ and met him for a little chat before appointing him Defense Secretary in 2016. Mattis had a reputation as a fine Marine military man, in Trumpā€™s words ā€œA True Generalā€™s General.ā€ He was also in fact a highly experienced military administrator, but was known to Trump above all as somebody the Obama Administration had not trusted because of what it felt were his too aggressive militarist inclinations in the Middle East:

As head of Central Command, Mattis oversaw the wars in Iraq and Afghanistan and was responsible for a region that includes Syria, Iran, and Yemen. He lobbied the Obama administration for a more aggressive response to Iran, including more covert operations and disruption of Iranian arms shipments to Syria and Yemen. According to Leon Panetta, the Obama Administration did not place much trust in Mattis because he was perceived as too eager for a military confrontation with Iran. Panetta later said Mattis lacked "the maturity to look at all of the options that a president should look at in order to make the right decisions.ā€

Jim Mattis - Wikipedia

Yet Mattis was no toady to the inexperienced and impulsive Trump:

Mattis occasionally voiced his disagreement with certain Trump administration policies such as the withdrawal from the Iran nuclear deal, withdrawals of troops from Syria and Afghanistan, and ... dissuaded Trump from attempting to assassinate Bashar al-Assad, the President of Syria. On December 20, 2018, after failing to convince Trump to reconsider his decision to withdraw all American troops from Syria, Mattis announced his resignation effective the end of February 2019 ... After Mattis's resignation generated significant media coverage, Trump abruptly accelerated Mattis departure date to January 1, stating that he had essentially fired Mattis. On June 3, 2020 ... Mattis publicly criticized Trump, calling him "the first president in my lifetime who does not try to unite the American peopleā€”does not even pretend to try. Instead, he tries to divide us."

Jim Mattis - Wikipedia

Mattis is a retired fighting man, a classic leader of soldiers. His patriotism and intelligence are undeniable. But he is not a political leader. Whatever disagreements one may have with him about larger political issues, there is no doubt that as a man and leader he is incomparably superior to that egomaniacal demagogue & tweet-addicted incompetent ā€” our own conman President Donald Trump.

Trump plagiarized "America First" from the kkk. It is nothing more than a bullshit expression and philosophy that should have bitten the dust ages ago. We are a global community and should be a world leader, and President Biden will restore our position in the world. Trump worked to make Russia the world's leader; thankfully he is toast.
