Reason #1,586,423 why fashion after 1962 through 1983 is to blame for such horror in our society. Destruction of women's fashion. I'm now firmly convinced that only now we are starting to see designers who are trying to design for women, and not their twiggy figured boyfriend to go drag in. Macrame and polyester leisure suits... when'd those EVER look good?

Now I gotta fire up the Chairman of the Board to get that sensation outta my head.

I had/have great legs and loved loved loved mini-skirts. But the "mood" of such garments is nowhere near the mood I'd be in wearing the dress, etc. Shirley Bassey has on in the post you made above. One is flirty...the other is seductive.

Listening to "Fly Me To The Moon" with the Count Basie Orchestra. A true greatest hits collection which I got for 6 bucks. what a deal.

Frank's being a palette cleanser right now. And well, ole blue eyes does nothing for me that way, his voice is cool masculine romanticism. Makes one feel... confident. If my body actually had even a neutral attitude towards clothing, I'd wear a suit more often instead of under duress. I can make even a tux look like a messy bed in 10 minutes. Fashion hates me.

And yes. Seductive is the better of the two choices. And when the design is bad, it isn't flirty, it's just filthy.

Little girls used to learn how to dress from watching their Mommys get ready to go out with their Daddys. That no longer happens, I dun think, and so we get trashy looks from kidlets who doubtless would prefer to seem classy, if they knew how.

Now with more wrinkles and senility. My generation never learned what it was to grow up because my parents generation never did. And now, with the Boomers looking for the next person to take care of them in the style in which they are accustomed, they're discovering to their horror their kids are tired of their freeloading immature ass who left them woefully unprepared to face adulthood, and have to rediscover maturity... the very very hard way.

That makes no sense to this boomer, while I hate bragging online, I'd bet I can out work you and pretty much destroy you in most sports. (unless you're a girl then I take that back, because we were raised differently than you self centered modern brats.)

'Teen age' started in June 7, 1945 in the New York Times magazine, I was still an egg missing that squiggly thing, my teen years came during Nam and the crazy sixties and no one ever gave us a blessed thing if you operated in our class of people, except a notice to serve. Which we all did.

Far too many baby boomer parents believed that extreme permissiveness and materialism was a whiz-bang way to raise a kidlet. Midcan is right -- not all of us were like this. But way, way too many.

Extreme strictness is bad too. Good parenting is a balance of push and pull, with an eye towards shoving the baby outta the nest at 18.
