It's amazing how many of these costumes were popular (in bold) when I was a boy back in the 1960s!!!

#5&7 were missed by you...they rated higher...however along the same lines dontcha' think?:D maybe #17 too!

Some things never change, hey Karl? We made ours, how about you?
Sometimes, but not often. With my son, though, I always made them. A trip to the local Salvation Army usually did the trick.

One year, he was Charlie Chaplin, baggy pants and all. We found some pants that were about 4 sizes too large a jacket that was about 2 sizes too small, an oversized shirt and an old tie, we borrowed a cane from my parents and bought a plastic derby. A little felt mustache finished it off. I think that costume cost me about $4 to make.

Another year, he went as Inspector Gadget, he had a trenchcoat and an old felt hat, that was another 2 or 3 bucks....

We recycled parts of the Inspector Gadget and Charlie Chaplin costumes and he went as Harpo Marx another year .... I bought a bike horn and a blonde curly wig and voila!

I'm not certain who had more fun, my son or me...

Hey those sound great!
I think at least half the fun was making the costume..Ahhhhh the good ole days.

18. Pimp Costume

What? Who would want to dress up like person that makes profit from the immoral selling of another person's body. Pimps are the dreggs of society.

When I was 'little' we bought from the store. From 5th grade up, we were always 'hippies' or 'hobos', both of which we could make up from stuff of our mothers or fathers. ;)
