(And Republicans Should Root For)

This weekend's college football games may determine whether President Barack Obama or Mitt Romney wins the presidential election.

To put it simply, an extensive study found if a home team wins 10 days before the election, the incumbent can expect a bump of about 1.5-3 percentage points in the team's home county. This means Republicans on Saturday should root against big-time college football teams from swing states like Ohio, Florida, Colorado, Wisconsin, Iowa, and Michigan.

The other one is whether the Washington Redskins win their last home game before the election. If they win then the incumbent party is re-elected. Apparently this goes all the way back to 1944.

The Redskins foe the sunday before the elections? Carolina Panthers.

Well, here are the results
1. Penn State over Ohio State = Penn lost 23 to 35
2. Northwestern 28 over Iowa 17
3. Michigan State 16 over Wisconsin 13 [OT]
4. Georgia 17 over Florida 9
5. Baylor 21 - Iowa State 35
6. Duke 7 - Florida State 48
7. Oregon 70 over Colorado 14 what a blowout
8. San Diego State 24 over UNLV 13
9. Nebraska 23 over Michigan 9
10. Oklahoma 13 - Notre Dame 30

Well 6 out of 10 ain't all that bad. And, if Romney/Ryan win 60% to 40% it's a blowout. :)
