To tout universal basic income, presidential candidate puts skin in the game

Andrew Yang, an entrepreneur and presidential candidate, wants to give every American adult $1,000, every single month.

To test a universal basic income program, Yang is giving two families, one in Iowa and one in New Hampshire, $1,000 a month out of his own pocket, according to CBS News. Yang is running as a Democrat and both states are early primary contests for the 2020 presidential nomination.

Here he is with Joe Rogan recently.

Why would that happen?

Tie a pretty ribbon around it, it's still welfare.
no, it isn't. it is solving for capitalism's natural rate of inefficiency through the bailout of socialism correcting for it through unemployment Compensation for simply being Unemployed by Capitalism's natural rate of unemployment.

Compensating those who lost their employment through no fault of their own is unemployment compensation. Supporting those who cannot work is welfare. Paying those who can work and have access to jobs but refuse to work is insanity.

Do you understand now?
socialism is about equality. employment is at the will of either party not wage-slavery.

You're introducing new words that don't apply to the discussion at hand. Care to stay on topic?
it is about recourse to an income of last resort.

Which is welfare. Sorry, that doesn't include those who can work and have access to jobs, but refuse to work.

That's kind of what we have today. If we replaced all social programs with universal income......let's say at 16K per adult, I think that would solve a lot of problems the parties have been fighting about for decades. It would also solve a lot of financial problems Americans face today.

One thousand a month. Only the right wing has a problem with it.

Compensation for Capitalism's natural rate of unemployment is more market friendly and enables the reserve labor force to maintain a state of readiness.
