My favorite story from the 1919 White Sox was Eddie Cicotte.

He had a bonus clause in his contract that if he got 30 wins he would get an extra $3000 (he was making $6000). He reached 29 wins with three starts left in the season. Comisky ordered that he be sat for the rest of the season.

I would have cheated too.....just to screw Comisky
