This is why capitalism is broken

Frontline workers at 13 of the 20 top U.S. retail companies — including Walmart, Amazon, Kroger, among others — saw an average pay increase of just $1.11 an hour, or 10%, a new analysis by the Brookings Institution found. At the same time, those companies' profits increased 39% year over year, while their stock prices went up by an average of 33%.

“Compared to the windfall profits we've seen at the very big companies, by and large, their workers have seen very little of that actual profits,” Molly Kinder, a fellow at Brookings and author of the report, told Yahoo Money. “This is on top of wages that are often so low, they’re poverty wages. And these jobs, of course, are terribly risky.”

What’s even more bizarre about this, to me, is that impoverished republican voters are okay with this. Big Business can do no wrong!
Profit and wages do not indicate anything is broken

Those with jobs are doing well except for the constant burden of paying for deadbeats who collect entitlements

There isn't a single person in the US (who isn't incarcerated) working a job involuntarily.

If you're working a job for less than you feel you are worth, that makes you a fool.
Well here is some simple logic for you. You ready? It is mathematically impossible for every or even most of these low wage workers to get a better paying job. Why? Because they don’t fucking exist. You do get that right? Higher paying jobs are few and far between.

No, the reality is many of them are unskilled individuals that can not get a higher paying job.

Those like you believe someone that flip hamburgers or bag groceries for a living should be paid the same amount the CEO make when in reality those jobs are what you call stepping stone jobs which mean they should be your first job but not your last...

Go learn a trade like Plumbing while working that job and then my bet is you will discover that there are better paying jobs but of course you would have to work which is something I doubt you have ever done in your life!

All corporations are evil!

Except, of course, the one you work for.

And even the ones I worked for were and are evil and I would say it all the time...

There's evil ... and there's EeeeVIL!

It's not even just about that.

It is about the lawyers of the corporations, and their lobbyists, and how they tailor make laws that are otherwise intended to safe guard the civil rights and civil liberties of sovereign citizens, instead, they destroy the very fabric of society by making corruption legal.

So, as you say, they become. . . evil.

Instead, the ills of society are fobbed off on to these shell entities, and no one and nothing takes responsibility for the crimes that can be done in the corporate name, while the collective of society suffers. All this so that individuals who work for them have no liability for mistakes done in their name? Well, this also makes individuals immune to evil, and predatory practices, and once a company goes public? They almost have the obligation to pursue such behavior if it will ensure share holders a profit.

These "corporations," as persons, are legal fictions which have been extended 14th Amendment protections of the State, and in other nations, the same is true, they have been given the same protections and rights as the individual, this is neither moral, nor just. They are allowed to sequester wealth and capital away from the society that allowed them the benefits of having been built, but then extend no benefits to the communities they serve at large, other than for PR.

All of the risk to society, none of the gains.

. . . and the only ones that defend this system, are those who have investments in them on the market.

It is a loathsome situation as they hurtle us all toward the final destruction of the planet. The elites think, oh, well, we can continue this game, we'll just scale it back, create a global police state, and only allow a small percentage of us to continue this way. . .

. . . yeah, I don't see THAT leading to a disaster at all.

To put it more succinctly ...

Hey asshole, all the big corporations backed your guy, Beijing Biden. Dems are locking down businesses, putting them out of business and putting many out of work. But Amazon profits are up ten fold.

So enjoy your new America, where giant multinational corporations make bank and the middle class disappears.

You think a 10 % raise is bad honey?

What is the cost of living?

Ever hear of compounding?

If you made 10 % for 10 years what would you salary increase by sugar?
And that is bad?

I know math is hard for the publicly schooled.

So there is only one job they can work?

Economic systems are only as good as the people running it. We keep demanding our politicians be "business friendly" then they go to Washington and give away the store to big business. We call that capitalism in America. Businesses are free to buy as many congressmen as they can afford.

So if there profits decrease 39 %, and the stock price decreases 33 % will workers take a pay cut?

Need tissues commrade?
If you like capitalism as a system you should be working to save it rather than attacking those who are critical of it's failures.
