I might post every now and then in here but no more real involvement....the format is just nuts.....as in when a discussion really gets hot and there are lots of replys one or two things happen....you start seeing these long, long blacklines which requires you to scroll and scroll to read a post but what happens all too often you wind up on another thread or the thread itself is moved or shut down.

Mod staff has been working with the IT consultants to find a FIX for the mile long quotes you get when folks JUST use the big static "reply" button at the bottom of every post next to the "post rating - like" button.. Quotes stack up pretty quickly if EVERYBODY does it that way in a thread...

The problem is the lack of an an everyday Site Administrator who would fix the nesting problem in a jiffy, there should be a nesting limit section on the admin board. I have seen on forums that allows nesting, also allows control over the SIZE of the nesting.

The Mods here are not the problem, they have NO access to the admin board, they can't fix it. All they can do is pass on the list of forum problems to the owners, then wait for a reply.

In this case, the fault lies with the S/ware App company.. Personally can't imagine a "message board" product that CANNOT let Admins determine depth of nesting.. It's like if Microsoft fielded a Windows version, that didn't have window tabbing controls..

On the old version, I remember we struggled with this when we first changed to Xenforo about 3 years ago.. Think we had to buy a 3rd party plug-in to fix it.. But 3rd parties are LATE to the game here because of Covid and who knows what else..

Users from ALL LEVELS, from consumer to OEM businesses have "learned to live" with crappy, buggy crap that they bought.,.. Most consumer apps are just an update away from being unusable. Can't believe how bad quality video, audio, software, support gets ignored nowadays. Must be aging.,... But when I worked in Silicon Valley, HEADS WOULD ROLL --- if a playback of video had a single defect in it..,

/——/ Parler? I’m seriously considering not renewing next January for the same reason. Besides the long lines and skipping threads, the annoying popup ad on the top, it hides the icons. And when I try to leave anything other than the thank you icon, I have to tap just lightly or I get the copy function. On my PC it works better, but on my iPhone, it sucks. They should just go back to the original format, clean and simple.

My experience with parler has been disappointing. I cannot find anything I post after posting it and moving on. I can't edit anything, and they don't respond to help requests. Plus notifications do not work.

I actually agree with that completely. The other forum I'm on, only shows the last three reply, and the rest are collapsed and hidden.

This one, I get the same thing. It either shows nothing, so I can't figure out the context of what was replied to.... or when I click expand, I get 50 pages of black lines. You end up scrolling and scrolling, and then if you scroll fast, you zoom past the end, and have to start searching around for it.

Very irritating. I can't honestly figure out why the people how made this forum software, would think that is a good system, when virtually no other forum does that.
