OR foreign policy.
OR economy.
OR deficit or truth or anyting that is being argued.

It's about ideology. It always is, for both sides. It explains why the electoral base is so very static. You get some shift back and forth in polling numbers, but you have very few people who change their minds.

Almost everyone has already set their tents on the campsite of their choosing, and most will not be budged.

So it's a war of ideals, not ideas.

On the right, you have religion. You have homophobia, bigotry, and disregard for the poor. You have freedom as a buzzword, so long as that freedom is their own, fuck everyone elses.

On the left, you have freedom, but sometimes at the expense of others. Namely those who cling to religious rights. You have more focus on social issues. You have womens rights as a huge part of the platform, and gay rights becoming more and more prevalent.

so both sides are obstinantely firm in their choices. The real question America needs to ask itself, is if it wants to progress along with the rest of the world, or if it wants to remain, and regress, in to a redneck paradise.

And although over 90% of the population is stuck where they are without moving, over 90% of the spin and discussion is on the stuff that is NOT changing peoples opinions in the first place.

why not boil it down to ideology, and forget all the time and energy wasted in the process?

If you're progressive minded, vote Dem.
If you're backward minded, vote Rep.

With comparisons like that is there any wonder who we should all choose

well, from my standpoint, it's very easy. I'm very critical of the Republican side of things. I don't make that a secret.
Wow...Never coulda figgered that out on my own.

Fine, rewrite it how you want. Let's just say I was super pumped about Religion, classic definition of marriage, big business... The fact would remain the same. People vote ideology, not ideas, for the most part.

Bullshit.

People tend to vote by habit.

You're a nitwit...For the most part.

You mean consistently voting for the same thing over and over? yeah. Habit. But that's simple, when you have ideological habits to maintain.

It's been about capitalism and socialism for the past 150 years. If you don't know this then you should log out.

I smell bullshit on that one. Republicans supported Medicaid, Medicare and social security, all socialist values.

Uh-huh...And people not constrained by such ideological habits make the "right choice" and vote for progressive socialists...Right?

no... Democrats tend to vote based on ideological habits as well. I feel I was very clear about that in the OP.

If you're backward minded, vote Rep.

Nope...No constraints there! :lmao:

yes, really. They have an ideological habit for voting for progressive values.

this should NOT be that difficult to grasp.

And in this post, you have very few accurate statements.

well, seeing as I would fall in the other camp, it would be accurate according to my paradigms wouldn't it?

Like I said, rewrite it to give a positive spin to the republican side. "Family values." "protecting marriage." "freedom." whatever.

people STILL vote based on their ideology.

But a progressive/socialist herpa-derp like you is so omniscient to see that the dem voters are "progressive", while the repub voters are "backward".

Good thing that you aren't ideologically constrained!! :lmao:

Then I guess you value being a looter, who is comfortable admitting that you're too much of a coward to wave a gun in your neighbor's face, in order to rob him yourself.

The first step to recovery...

I do value not resorting to firearms to solve all the ills of the world, yes. I think 33,000 people shot per year is a bad trend.
