Quite a bit of hyperbole but if what you say about the Dems and the DSA, the question should be "Why are they popular?". I'd submit it is in response to radicals on the Right taking the GOP out of the mainstream.

Dems flirtation with Socialism is a reaction to the growing economic chasm between the rich and poor and the perceived excesses of Wall Street. A large number of Americans don't see their economic future as very bright and they don't believe the GOP's business as usual is the solution. A majority of GOP tax breaks go to the rich and corporations, the GOP fights minimum wage laws, the GOP supports removing environmental rules to favor businesses.

Dems efforts to include minorities, racial, religious, and sexual, all very popular with a wide swath of Americans are a reaction to the GOP working to exclude and marginalize them. The GOP is set against gay marriage, Islam, voting rights, etc.

The Democrat Party stands for the same principles and ideas of the Communist Party.

I'm a big supporter of ranked-choice voting. It is being tried here in VA and, though still too early to see the full effects, it appears to work. I think it should be mandatory for all primaries for both parties as it may eliminate the more radical candidates from each party since every winner would be a majority candidate.

There is no 'if'....I'm always correct. If your IQ was more than a double digit you'd realize that.

If you read books, you'd know why.

While the liberal mob engages in the kind of violence that one expects of a mob, there is also a species of intellectual mob that relies on praise and ridicule to enforce its views: they rely on the axiom that large segments of the population would rather be punched in the face than be sneered at by the elites. We call them liberals.

The mob mentality is irresistible to people with a desperate need to be popular, and are perennially afraid of getting a bloody nose on the playground of life. A tell-tale sign is the use of terms like “us” and “we” when they write, or speak…as these pronouns speak of popularity, of membership in the larger group…i.e. the mob.

In fact, an easy way to identify a conservative, is to look for the folks who aren’t afraid to be sneered at by “The Daily Show” and the other temples of the status-anxious. Conservatives are not susceptible to groupthink. Jon Stewart transmits the party line to idiots so they know who to hate. The act of applauding a joke rather than laughing at it is a public gesture that serves no purpose other than assuring everyone that you are part of the group.

To be "radical" one's positions must be radical relative to that center. American traditions, values, and history represent that center. The Right, represented by the Republican Party, has no radial positions not consistent with America’s heritage…..but the Democrats sure do!

There is no 'if'....I'm always correct. If your IQ was more than a double digit you'd realize that.

While the liberal mob engages in the kind of violence that one expects of a mob, there is also a species of intellectual mob that relies on praise and ridicule to enforce its views: they rely on the axiom that large segments of the population would rather be punched in the face than be sneered at by the elites. We call them liberals.

The mob mentality is irresistible to people with a desperate need to be popular, and are perennially afraid of getting a bloody nose on the playground of life. A tell-tale sign is the use of terms like “us” and “we” when they write, or speak…as these pronouns speak of popularity, of membership in the larger group…i.e. the mob.

In fact, an easy way to identify a conservative, is to look for the folks who aren’t afraid to be sneered at by “The Daily Show” and the other temples of the status-anxious. Conservatives are not susceptible to groupthink. Jon Stewart transmits the party line to idiots so they know who to hate. The act of applauding a joke rather than laughing at it is a public gesture that serves no purpose other than assuring everyone that you are part of the group.

Now....wouldn't an honest appraisal agree that all or almost all are clearly the aims and direction of Democrats/Liberals/Progressive leaders?

You missed my point entirely so I'll clarify: if what you say about the Dems and the DSA is true, the question should be "Why are these ideas proving so popular with a large segment of our populace?". I'm not saying what you wrote is right or wrong nor am I saying if the Dem and DSA polices are good or bad, I'm only asking why do they resonate.

I'd submit it is in response to radicals on the Right taking the GOP out of the mainstream of Americans political thought.

There is no 'if'....I'm always correct. If your IQ was more than a double digit you'd realize that.

While the liberal mob engages in the kind of violence that one expects of a mob, there is also a species of intellectual mob that relies on praise and ridicule to enforce its views: they rely on the axiom that large segments of the population would rather be punched in the face than be sneered at by the elites. We call them liberals.

The mob mentality is irresistible to people with a desperate need to be popular, and are perennially afraid of getting a bloody nose on the playground of life. A tell-tale sign is the use of terms like “us” and “we” when they write, or speak…as these pronouns speak of popularity, of membership in the larger group…i.e. the mob.

In fact, an easy way to identify a conservative, is to look for the folks who aren’t afraid to be sneered at by “The Daily Show” and the other temples of the status-anxious. Conservatives are not susceptible to groupthink. Jon Stewart transmits the party line to idiots so they know who to hate. The act of applauding a joke rather than laughing at it is a public gesture that serves no purpose other than assuring everyone that you are part of the group.

Two thirds of the country support gay marriage. I guess that makes them all liberals. Only 12% of U.S. adults said they wanted to see the president and Congress decrease spending for Medicaid. I guess the other 88% of Americans are liberals.

I'm no statistician but it appears the trend is towards liberalism. If conservatives are so right and their policies are so successful one would think they might be able to convince people (other than themselves).

Just an FYI, you don't prove anything when you quote the opinions of others.

Just saying that in this country being liberal (or at very least not being conservative) is the norm. Therefore, by definition, someone who is a conservative, such as yourself, is abnormal.

Seriously though, I think it shows that someone who thinks most people are idiots, "Demonic", desperate for a badge of identity, highly susceptible to groupthink, in fierce need of a ‘guide,’ foolish, ignorant, envious, insignificant, and powerlessness really hates America and considers themselves superior to almost everyone else. Certainly superior to anyone not in lock step with their values.
