Those numbers are consistent with the US statistics. Drilling down to the state level, in North Carolina it is about 1.5%, in my county, 1.2%. But we have a better health care system than most states, and we have a Democratic governor.

The mortality rate of the seasonal flu has been consistently calculated at .01%. So you would have to get the seasonal flu every year for two hundred years to have the same chance as dying as you would if you got the Corona virus ONCE. That should clearly reveal how stupid comparing the seasonal flu with the Coronavirus really is. The fact that people still believe there is little difference is indicative of that confirmation bias I spoke of.
