The Republicans have entered their own kind of end-stage Bolshevism, as members of a party that is now exhausted by its failures, cynical about its own ideology, authoritarian by reflex, controlled as a personality cult by a failing old man, and looking for new adventures to rejuvenate its fortunes," wrote Nichols, who has previously denounced the far-right evangelical takeover of the party he once backed and warned of the poisonous influence of right-wing media.

And they don’t have anyone that even remotely possesses the character of Mikhail Gorbachev, to pick up the pieces.

What a goofus sheeple.

The only time it will look like the fall is when some large demographic votes to end the centralized control of Trump and the RNC....

Worry not. Biden will make Iran great again. Happy now?

BTW, Bidens still got little kids in cages at the border.

If you ever decide to come back to some sort of reality, it will be here waiting for you. Good luck.

Do you actually, no-shit believe the bunk you post? I'd recommend you pick up a history book but it'd likely bite your hand off . . .

It looks like they are in for a long period of exile.

The chap who lost the senate and the House is still de facto leader but his leadership is primarily a personality cult that the majority of Americans have now rejected twice.

The rest of the party leadership is compromised due to the 4 year cock sucking exercise and it will take a few years for new leaders, and ideas, to come through.

They also seem oblivious to reality. Trying to stop minorities from voting is not a long term strategy to attract voters.

Sure you can stop lazy dregs from voting.....just open up the polls, and dont send out any fake leftyvirus mailin ballots.

The real implosion is happening to the DNC this very moment. They're already turning on their own that is Andrew Cuomo as of right now. Not to mention to incoming impeachment they will have set up for old Corrupt Joe. But let's talk about how the Republican party is shifting into a newer era in preparation for Trump to run again in 2024.

You coordinated a bioterror attack with the CCP AND had to cheat in the tens of millions columns.

It's YOUR time that's up!

you look at things pretty strangely....no wonder you called yourself skewes....

Lots of similarities, both are in their dying late stages, and they both are/were dangerous to the world as they howl in agony avoiding their inevitable fate on the dustbin of failed ideology.

Like Brezhnev, Trump has grown in status to become a heroic figure among his supporters. If the Republicans could create the rank of “Marshal of the American Republic” and strike a medal for a “Hero of American Culture,” Trump would have them both by now.

A GOP that once prided itself on its intellectual debates is now ruled by the turgid formulations of what the Soviets would have called their “leading cadres,” including ideological watchdogs such as Tucker Carlson and Mark Levin. Like their Soviet predecessors, a host of dull and dogmatic cable outlets, screechy radio talkers, and poorly written magazines crank out the same kind of fill-in-the-blanks screeds full of delusional accusations, replacing “NATO” and “revanchism” with “antifa” and “radicalism.”

Falling in line, just as in the old Communist Party, is rewarded, and independence is punished. The anger directed at Liz Cheney and Adam Kinzinger makes the stilted ideological criticisms of last century’s Soviet propagandists seem almost genteel by comparison. (At least Soviet families under Brezhnev didn’t add three-page handwritten denouncements to official party reprimands.)

This comparison is more than a metaphor; it is a warning. A dying party can still be a dangerous party. The Communist leaders in those last years of political sclerosis arrayed a new generation of nuclear missiles against NATO, invaded Afghanistan, tightened the screws on Jews and other dissidents, lied about why they shot down a civilian 747 airliner, and, near the end, came close to starting World War III out of sheer paranoia.

Wow, you'll believe anything from anyone, what a funny article and the stretching in the article is unreal.

Thanks for the laughs! Democrats and Republicans are just funny people.
