There are no viable alternatives

And let's not forget Trump was the biggest spender we have seen in this country.

Just stop already. President Trump's debt was about equivalent to Obama's. He was in office four years and Obama was in for eight, and they both ran up roughly the same percentage of debt per term. Plus there was that pandemic.

"President Obama added about $8.6 trillion, about a 74% increase, to the national debt at the end of President Bush’s last budget in 2009."

"Trump added $6.7 trillion to the debt between fiscal year 2017 and fiscal year 2020, a 33.1% increase, largely due to the effects of the coronavirus pandemic and 2020 recession."

At this point in our country's history, we have become widely-divided along two equal polar opposites. There are no feasible alternatives, and there is no middle ground. While the Democrat Party has moved strongly toward cultural Marxism since 2010, the GOP has shifted strongly toward American Nationalism. I cite 2010 as the symbolic starting point, as that was not only during the first term of Barack Obama, that was also the birth of the American Tea Party Movement.

While there have been occasional third-party candidates during Presidential elections, none of them have been proven to be unique or practical. The Ron Paul-style libertarian parties have mostly shared the same core values as the GOP: The US as a Constitutional Republic, personal liberties, the rights of the individual, smaller government, lower taxes, etc. At the same time, what third parties catered to Democrat voters, have generally been left-leaning: The Bernie bros, CPUSA, Green Party, Socialist Party USA, etc.

Now there are some folks who would claim that their own personal political views are a mixture of both ideologies. But the fact is, you are what you vote. Most people vote for one side or the other, or don't vote at all. I'm not saying one shouldn't be allowed to vote for a Vermin Supreme or a Jill Stein, that is God-given Constitutional right. But the fact is, we are basically a two-party system. Some use the term "Uniparty", but that is a fallacy. There are distinct and marked differences between the two parties in this country, even though similarities are occasionally pointed out. But the differences far outweigh the similarities, even to the casual observer or someone not familiar with our form of government.

I myself prefer to be aligned with the American Nationalist side of the political spectrum, or the GOP. That choice is based on 71 years of personal experience, was well as the core values I have chosen. I will say that I was originally a Democrat. My parents were Democrats. My Grandparents were Democrats, as were their parents and Grandparents. But as I grew older, gained more life's experiences, and started paying attention, I noticed the direction the Democrat Party was going. And what it had become even 22 year ago, was 180 degrees out of phase with what I believed in.

And that's my pronunciamento for the day.

Now for the obligatory citation and references, so hopefully this thread won't get flushed. :04:

"This comparison examines the differences between the policies and political positions of the Democratic and Republican parties on major issues such as taxes, the role of government, entitlements (Social Security, Medicare), gun control, immigration, healthcare, abortion, environmental policy and regulation. These two parties dominate America's political landscape but differ greatly in their philosophies and ideals..."

The terminal problem with America today is the lack of realization that some things are ALWAYS bad. The democratic party in particular, but also the GOP, would lead Americans to believe that evil can sometimes be good. Democrats call this practice universal equality or diversity or wokeness. What we need more than anything is else is for someone with great power to stand up and tell all Americans that some things, some ideas, some political platforms, some ideologies are always bad and always will be, no matter how they are presented or spun. Such things as spreading homosexuality, transgender ideology, abortion, compromise on Second Amendment rights and hatred of America by Americans fall into this always bad no matter what category, along with many others.

You may be missing a key point: To the "woke" Left, the greatest secular "sin" that one can commit is to BE JUDGMENTAL. You cannot condemn anyone or anything, because that condemnation bears the implicit message that YOU or YOUR SIDE are somehow superior, and that is the essence of being JUDGMENTAL.

Take the most obvious and important example of this phenomenon: It is absolutely VERBOTEN to state that a woman bearing an illegitimate child with no means to support "it" is somehow doing something that is wrong. It is a sin against the child and against the community, both micro and macro. This is manifestly true, and yet it CANNOT BE SAID in public today because it is JUDGMENTAL.

Same for being FAT, same for being LAZY (unemployed for no good reason), same for being a gender-freak...you get the idea.

But condemning perversion, unorthodoxy, anti-social conduct, vulgarity, unethical behavior, etc., is NECESSARY for the perpetuation of the culture.

They understand that in other Western Countries, but not in the U.S. Why is that? We are fucked. Glad I'm too old to worry about it.
