The dialog must begin Barretta. Unfortunately you must prepare yourself for the innevitable insults of being a sellout and possibly even told you don't belong in the party.
Still ignoring the fact that Ted Cruz and Jeff Flake won in states with very large Latino communities, aren't ya?
I have a clue for ya: They didn't do so by pandering to disparate pressure/identity groups.
I voted for Ted Cruz on purpose. He has a brilliant legal mind, he is very conservative, and he keeps his eye on the fiscal ball. He's for family and for our state.
All else is dross. You're unimpeachable in theory, Mr. Oddball.
There is a downside to controlling the border. Future claims will be made by immigrants on this side of the border to bring over 50 relatives apiece once they are citizens. Even if it were only 10 each, for every one of the 9,000,000 illegals here now (conservative estimate) that winds up adding another quarter (more or less) to our already 300,000,000 people in the lower 48. Our natural resources are already strapped trying to get water in and sewage out without mixing the two up.
Also, there's no sense in bringing people over here who simply wish to expropriate the land they live on to their old country that didn't want them and that years have erased their memory of why they left such a murderous, uncouth, corrupt political area that pushed many of them out with a price on their head if they returned. Also, our neighbor to the south executes people who cross their southern borders. Executes. And they caterwaul at the USA if THEIR mules murder a busload of Mexican immigrants, over which we have zero control unless we build an impenetrable Great Wall like China built eons ago, complete with kill stations at every 20 yards. I'm advocating nothing, just saying.
